Nutcracker animation tests...in sync, and delayed...and some illusion.

I think that bug's from some video game maybe? it had a saddle on, but I hid it. Freebie from Summoner's website.

My favorite bug I guess would be Gonzo, another oldie....I always had problems with his eyes rendering too dark, and finally figured it out that the diffuse default setting was set to white, and it was like the Poser cat...it needed to be set to black. Once I changed it, Gonzo now has pupils...and he looks like the promos that were on Rendo. I think he's supposed to be a very plump bee....sort of :)

I checked Summoner's site and saw the beetle, but I also saw this Honeybee with a headlight and lighted eyes, and decided to go with it because I thought it might animate well. It has lots of rigging...quite cool :) The antenna can also serve as handlebars if it's carrying a driver/passenger. Thought he'd make a cool new Hive-mate :)

Yeah, with a store that size, they really need a search function. It took some perseverance to find the honeybee....pages and pages of demonic-themed stuff that I would never be able to use, since it would cross a line of tolerance for me, but I started seeing some nice animals amid the idols and bloody demons.. Since I have to do this in a way that satisfies the "new rules", look around page 221....there's a cute little white dog....and in the 381 section, I found the honeybee. There's a doberman in the pages in between....and I remember seeing a dolphin. I didn't go any further than the honeybee page since I knew that was what I wanted as soon as I saw it, and the price was very reasonable....so who knows what's on the rest of the hundreds of pages. Happy hunting :)

Oh there is a search on the right hand side. A bit hidden in everything since it's a busy front page. Has freebies that are public, but also some that you have to "donate" at least $7 I think in order to get the passcode, which does allow you to download them all should you wish. Got some wolf statues and some medievally looking items.

Haha....Andy is the fearless one :)

I saw the freebies section. The honeybee and other stuff that I mentioned were in the Poser/DS store section. The bee was about $5....most other stuff was more than that. I'd have to think about whether I'd ever use some of the free stuff....I have to be careful about the message that I display...after awhile, it would be difficult for folks to tell where I was coming from if I embraced everything that came along, not to mention opening a door in the spirit that I would definitely regret. Some of the themes would even cross a line with web hosting, Christian web rings, and ministries that are a part of my sites (things like occult themes, idols, new age), so I always have to pay close attention to what I'm doing, and stress family friendly whenever I display my web name. I stepped slightly out of character playing around with Halloween themes this year...since the thread was rushing in that direction anyway, I had to find a diplomatic way of dealing with it....so I chose to make light of it, in order to send a clear message that I wasn't promoting it. Back to Summoner's site, a few of the free things I've seen at other sites, like in the recent RDNA freebies. The honeybee is well done, excellent rigging, so I'm sure the other animals would be as well.

I'm in a cute toony critter type frame on mind this round of 3d work. Few years back it was more dark, but that's the place I was at that time of my life. Not to say they're all going to be cutesy. My monster/bride render was strictly for the season. Too much darkness in the world. Want to laugh, even if it's just at myself!

Exactly, I agree....our art reflects what's going on in our hearts. I can safely default to humor, and only occasionally do serious themes so as not to push that in a way that would be offensive to some. Mostly I just enjoy comical animations for the purpose of 3D work. That's how we crossed paths years ago with the Nursoda characters. I enjoyed that time very much. There are times when humor can actually brighten the day for ourselves as well as for the folks who view our projects. That's my hope at least :)

Doing this render I discovered that Vila is ummm a bit anatomically correct in places. o_O And as she comes with no pants as default she was in full view in a sitting pose. Thank goodness I have the bathing suit for her. Not that in the actual render it would have mattered since that part's in shadow.
