What version of P11 do you have installed? Current version is 11.04.32600. Menu "Help -> About Poser" shows the installed version.

That could be an issue, I went back to the original Poser 11 before any updates because the content library was getting so jumpy, and grew worse with every update.

It got really aggravating when doing pose work...I had to access the library frequently when creating poses, and it would jump out of categories and into stuff I had not selected, stuff like that. It was slowing work flow, so I uninstalled, and started over with the original version, when it was first released.

This rather is not a graphics card issue. The material renders the same with both CPU and GPU mode here. I have the current version of Poser installed. Former versions did not deal correctly with CyclesSurface node in material layers others than the Basic layer. Layer one of the Crown material only contains the golden parts of the crown. That occurs to be the problem. Unfortunately that kind of gold material is only possible to achieve with CyclesSurface.

:sorry:

Still getting a blackened crown. Will have to pursue this tomorrow. I'm pleased with how far along this is coming, so quickly.

Oops...guess I'll have to try updating Poser then. I'll take time to do that tomorrow and see if it improves. I'm not doing the heavy pose work now that I was once doing....when I was doing the Last Supper sets, it was making me want to pull my hair out...haha. I'll try rendering this again after updating, and if that's the case, it should render out fine.

I usually backup my library before I install any update. Anyhow, actually I never had any library issues with poser.

If Poser behaves weird you can try that: Solving weird issues with Poser by remov...

If your hard drive is older than 5 years maybe it has certain write/read errors. Chdsk could help fixing them. If not a new HDD would be advisable.

I'm retired now, and pretty much done with purchasing new hard drives...I just make do with what I have now...a Windows 7 Pro on a 1 TB drive, 8 gig ram, but nothing fancy or super fast.

When I was working I stayed in a new computer, but now I'm pretty much coasting along since I no longer need it for job related work.

My program library is within Poser, but all of the content that I add is set up in separate categories under documents.

Another point. Make sure to choose keeping existing Poser settings or config during update process. Leave all the other update options as they are.

It's showing 11.0.4.32467...apparently there's been another update, since your number is higher. Is it necessary for the render?

I'm attempting to find the latest update through Download Manager while the render is finishing up on my other workstation.
