I did examine the beautiful HW big cat and there is room to improvement regarding the eye , the currently setting do not include actual IOR , it does but without volume so it is just an AIR with reflection and the reason for that are the eyes construction ( shape) Laurie created wonderful textures and fixed the eyes using it to a level that is all looking good , but not from all angles because of the lack of volume in IOR and the original eyes shape that prevent her of using the actual volume with IOR as it would turns the iris very dark. This is not really big deal or negative thing, unless you need close up shot the textures will do the trick as it is beautifully and well done to simulate the volume !

For some big deal for others not so.
here quick differences , I did not used the base iris textures ( just bump map) so you can see what is going on with the IOR with actual volume and the new shape, if you own a cat you know what I am talking about , the difference is like wearing a color contact lenses vs real iris
I think the images speak for itself in this case

What an amazing difference!
Thanks Miss B, it was just quick attempt it need to be refined , bot the outside layer and the inside eye, I just wanted to see if there gonna be any improvement as for the first look everything was fine, until I turn the head on the side and thing was clear.
You see the IOR + Volume create the shadow on the iris as many people believe it is the eyelid but it is actually index of refraction doing it, but for that to happen there need to be proper physical distance between iris and corneal bulge so the IOR+volume can do its magic. Small thing huge difference !
Domestic Cats have a little different setup than big cats and really huge corneal bulge like a lens, I am going to make new eyes shape for the domestic cat as well.

They do speak for themselves in all your render examples. The eyes are the first thing people look at, so that's how important they are. I always thought eye reflections looked wrong in Poser/DS figures, and it was obvious that the eyeball physical shape wasn't right. Light reflections looked wrong on the eyes, and that's why many have opted for fake (texture baked) reflections. When the physical shape is not right, it doesn't matter how much effort we put into the shaders and lighting with hope to get the right reflections. This was especially bad on V4. where the cornea bulge was so close to the iris that her eyes turn dark in renders due to AO. Such a relief you came with a solution Cath. ^___^

Got some issues the UVs not work so well on the iris, bumps maps surprisingly do , so beside simple color the original iris textures get little disturbed, I could do relaxing UV for the iris for DS but not Poser .. :( you can still use just a simple color or blurred colors maps, not need to be a photo .

This was my first time using the big cat today, anyway I am in love , beautiful creation
some screen shots from Iray.

I love the little apron! Dawn needs something like that, too. Some "old fashioned" accessories. No goodwife would be without her apron, all the up into the 60's and 70's!

Ugh... the 1970's... Izod polo shirts, wallaby shoes and Angel Flight disco pants... I wore them all. I think the 1940s or 1980s (glam/punk) periods offer more interesting clothing choices. Of course, my real preference is for the clothing of 1880's old west, which I've been wearing replicas (Wahmaker) of for the last 30 some years.
