Thanks Myth and Hornet.

I still struggle with lighting. What has really saved me in terms of lighting is IDL. That and Ray Traced Shadows.

Beastette is a sweetie! She just has a thing for weights.

Oliver Queen.jpg

As promised, here is my Oliver Queen, AKA Green Arrow... I still have a lot of work to do on this outfit. I just got everything UV mapped. I rigged the chest armor, but I need to rig the belt and shirt as well, and probably rig the arm bands and gloves together, and rig the boots. The pants will stay dynamic, so I can get the good folds and wrinkles in them. I had done the recurve bow for a different character, so I adjusted the scale and parented it to his left hand. The arrows in the quiver are just a static prop parented to the quiver, and they are not fully modeled. The arrow in his right hand was modeled the same time as the bow, and re-scaled for proper dimensions. It's hard to see, but there is a throwing knife on the strap of the quiver right where he can reach it if he needs it. The hood will also stay dynamic.

I got called away before I could add and edit.

I thought this was a superfly render due to speckles on her bum, back and armpit.

The Green Arrow modeling looks spot on right down to his hood. Remember when he used to wear a little robin hood hat complete with feather? Just a note. The comic book is bringing the red panties for the Superman outfit starting with issue 1000. That might mean it won't be long before the underwear is on the outside for the rest of the heroes as well. You said the pants are dynamic. How about an action pose?

I will look into an action pose (firing an arrow?) when I get everything textured the way I want it to. I will not put the underwear on the outside of any costume I make. I want to stay a bit more grounded in reality. I love the way Marvel is doing the costumes. With a couple exceptions, most of them look natural running around in a real world environment. I want to stick with that goal as I create my DC JL group photo shoot.

Caoimhe found herself falling in love with the planet, the air was fresh, there were green pastures to walk in and the scenery was breathtaking. It was so different to her own world. She had even come to like the food and this strange drink called coffee that gave her a buzz each morning. Yes she would be sad to leave all this when the time came she would miss so much, and then....then, she tried not to think of it and despite the buzz from the coffee, she suddenly felt sad.......and then there was Turlough.

I would say she needs to straighten up a bit but a little mess makes even a scifi apartment looks lived in (besides, her level of disarrary is right up there with mine!).

Besides, she's a coffee lover. Coffee lovers have time for two things. Coffee and Love. Is she and Turlough actually mated through vow and ceremony or are they free agents?

All in all, a lovely render of home living for a space faring lady.

Firing an arrow is his basic function so that would be my choice.

I've seen this one before, on 'rosity. If I do an action pose, it will be very similar to that, since I don't have the patience to rig that bow so it can be drawn. Maybe if I feel froggy one day soon I'll model one that is drawn...

I rigged EVERYTHING except the quiver which is parented to his chest armor, the recurve bow, parented to his left hand, and the hood. Actually I did rig the hood, but I didn't like what the rigging did and I deleted it. I like dynamics so much better for things like that. I am doing a test render right now.

By the way, did I mention which figure I am using for Mr. Queen?

I wasn't certain I had posted it somewhere besides D.A. My apologies.

I think you prefer dynamics for everything. I do prefer conforming however, I think you get fantastic result with zero poke through and better draping. Unless proper draping is built into the conforming cloth, dynamic can't be beat. However, I use a hybrid figure which has led to disaterous results so I am sticking to what I like.

Which figure are you using? Hmmm, I'm really not certain. I know you're not crazy about DAZ figures but you wouldn't eschew them as well. The hands are a decent or shall we say proportinal size however, when using a thick, bulky figure, M4 has some really huge calves. I'll say M4.

Thanks for the comments, as to the precise relationship between Caoimhe and Turlough at this point in the story I am not sure. This render came into being as I am running a series of renders to see how some of my content works in Superfly and not really a part of the story, yet. Some content like this just works (with the exception of Dawn) while other content needs reworking as it renders but seems to benefit little from superfly and some looks no different,or worse, but would be a pain to rework.

Anyway, back to Caoimhe and Turlough, for the most they are essentially free agents in the general sense of the term but forced together out of history and circumstance.
