Yep that is what I really call cute.
As for understanding another's point of view you're right is difficult. One UK support charity's policy is never to give advice on the basis that what you are really saying is 'this is what I would do if I were you. The problem is you are not them and what works for you will not necessarily work for them no matter how well good the intended advice is. Far more important I think is that we should listen a lot more but it seems to be a dying skill. On the plus side art, whether 3d or otherwise, can say something across cultures and often in a nice way rather than aggressively, hence the saying I guess that a picture can paint an thousand words.
