Todays Weather where you live?

Terre

Oh fun! Just checked Morecambe on your link Terre! Sunday: Light wind/rain, 49/41 F, 90% precipitation, wind WSW 26mph, 80% humidity. Possible thunderstorms on Monday and Wednesday. Cool! So that's definitely no white Christmas then!
Given the temps they are forecasting for here I think I'll just ask you to keep your precipitation.

No problem Terre. We're quite used to being precipitated on in these parts! In fact,if it doesn't rain for three days in a row, the Met Office have been known to dispatch experts to investigate what has gone wrong! If the old adage that Manchester gets more rain than any other place in the UK is true, then Morecambe must hold the record for the highest amount of liquid snow! :)

Horrifically cold here today, with very high winds, which makes it feel twice as bad.

It's currently 14ºF, with 19mph winds, and it's expected to get down to single digits tonight. I know I've been saying it a lot the past few days, but ~brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr~ I can't remember the last time we had such cold weather.

With it so cold outside, it's been toasty warm inside my apartment. Which isn't always the case when the temperature outside is higher.

:yeahthat: EXACTLY!! It was so toasty warm here this morning, I couldn't put my coat on until I got downstairs to the lobby on my way to the gym, because I was feeling too warm. ;)

It actually spit some flakes this morning. Didn't stick to much because there wasn't enough but still..... TWC said there wouldn't be any precipitation at all!

We had a light dusting of "maybe" an inch yesterday morning, and there's only remnants of it because it's so cold today. Otherwise it would be mostly gone, as it was nice and sunny today.

It was a cold New Years day here in the east coast of Ireland. Temperature was about 4C but there was a strong and chilly wind all day, worse I think in the west due to "Storm Dylan."

It's a little warmer here today with a high of 19ºF, and a predicted low of 14ºF, but the winds are still high at 18mph.

The high winds should keep the skies clear, because we're due to have our first Supermoon of 2018 just before 9:30pm tonight here on the East Coast. Last night's moon was pretty bright, but I don't think it was totally "full", so tonight's moon should really be something to see. :)

Well, the article I read earlier stating what time we'd see the Supermoon tonight was wrong. It's out there right now, and it's lighting up my kitchen counter and the sink. I was never aware of Supermoons until the one last month, but it's really something to see. It's so big and bright, and so unlike most of the moons I'm used to seeing.

I almost wish I could take a picture of it, but we can't get up to our roof as it's locked, and it's too damn cold to go up there tonight in any case.

Well, it looks like we here on the east coast are going to be experiencing a "Bomb Cyclone"...
Apparently it's like a cold weather hurricane/nor'easter...
My area is expecting a foot of snow or more and 40 mph winds...
Usually that means two feet of snow and 60 mph winds...
Or, six inches of snow and 10 mph winds...
It's hard to say because I'm pretty sure most meteorologists just drink piña coladas and play video games all day long, and then make up elaborate charts and predictions to make it look like they were working...
It might be Snowpocalypse or nothing of note.
Either way, it's probably gonna snow.
My only regret is I didn't stock up on beer.
Actually, I have lots of other regrets, but that's the only one I'm focusing on at the moment.

It was pretty cool looking.
Every time there is a really bright full moon, I think of some article I once read a long time ago about how if Jupiter was a little more massive, it might have become a small dim star, which would probably shine in the night sky similar to a very bright full moon...
It was probably in Omni magazine, so who knows how accurate that was, but it's intriguing to wonder how different life on earth would have been if our species had never known truly dark nights.
Imagine how early civilization and mythology would have evolved in a nightless binary system.

We are prepping for the bomb cyclone here as well. Fun times! No beer here, either! LOL

I'm dreading it too, as I have an eye doctor's appointment tomorrow, unless he decides not to come in. Luckily, his office is on the next block, and they're pretty good around here about cleaning the sidewalks as soon as it stops snowing, so it'll only be walking across this street at the corner that might be a little iffy. Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we only get 3" instead of 6" tomorrow. Sheesh, it's only January, and we've already had too much snow. ~shakes head~
