Todays Weather where you live?

Frigid here, highs below freezing, night time temps in the teens. That's very cold for Georgia, especially over a sustained period like we have had.

Luckily, the Bomb Cyclone stayed on the coast and missed us entirely. Though Savannah, GA and my favorite place - Jekyll Island - got hit with very rare snow and ice. Since Jekyll is a nature preserve, I hope there wasn't much damage to the fauna and animal life with such an unusual weather pattern.

I had to take a frozen sparrow away from one of the dogs yesterday. Poor little thing just couldn't take the frigid temps.

It's flippin' cold outside... You probably can't tell, but it's really windy in that picture.
I took that earlier when there was only eight inches of snow... But because of the wind, in open areas there is way less.
Of course it's piled deep anywhere it can collect... The official depth for my area is only fourteen inches, but it's impossible to tell how accurate that is.
By the way, that tree in the middle of the picture is the evil haunted mulberry tree... I may have mentioned it once or twice, or not at all... I don't really remember half of what I write or where I write it.

Ye Gods! McGyver has an evil haunted mulberry tree in his garden and up to his Calvin Kleins in snow and whats worse....Lisa B has no beer!!!!!!! It's the Apocalypse I tell e'. The Apocalypse!!!!!

Meanwhile, its a bit warmer in sunny, downtown Morecambe with temps as high as 7 C so almost a heatwave! Still raining though. Sheesh!

Cold and dry here with light winds. Basically mild weather for this time of year.

I hope those of you with the storms stay safe and warm.

It's finally stopped snowing here, but it's really, really cold, so it's not going away any time soon. I just went down to check the mail, and from what I can see out the front entrance, the street's been cleared, and the sidewalks are pretty clear as well.

I had called my eye doctor this morning, and the gal at the reception desk told me he didn't make it in, so they were calling everyone with appointments today to cancel. That's good.

Glad every one is doing okay. Nice yard in your pic @McGyver Nice trees. I don't think there's any snow left on the trees here.

The wind has been blowing a lot - even more and much colder now that the snow has stopped. There's about 10 inches out there with much deeper drifts. I took the dog out and threw the ball for him like we usually do, snow or no snow, and he never found it. He was annoyed he had to come in WITHOUT the ball. But I was frozen so ...

Stay warm blizzard buddies!

You as well Lisa. I won't know what our final snow fall was here until I see the news in about 2 hours, but McGyver lives about 40-45 minutes further east, so for sure they got a lot more snow than I did.

No snow for us, only dull and 3C at the moment. It's supposed to get colder again later, but no snow predicted :(.

This was a weird snow.
From what I gather the total accumulation for my area was only what I mentioned previously as it stopped snowing by 4:30 or 5:00 pm... The north and east sides of the house had only a few inches of snow, in fact the driveway on the north side had a bare area the size of a car...(ghost car?)... But apparently all that snow ended up on the south side where there was a drift of at least three plus feet... That sucks because my snow blower only has an intake of 24 inches.
It took around four hours to dig out the driveways on both sides and the front.
The wind was the worst part as no matter which way you aimed the snow, it seemed to blow back.
Which was more annoying than painful, because this time I used my wife's paintball mask instead of my own.
Mine was designed for better peripheral vision, but it fogs up horribly no matter what, in cold weather... Hers which looks more like BMX mask, is way better... I think it has something to do with the vent holes.
Either way, I wasn't as cold as I normally get, despite the fact that it was super windy.
Seriously, if you shovel your own walks or have to be out in freezing conditions frequently, a good paintball mask is a decent investment... And you can frighten small children by pretending you are Kylo Ren.
But remember to wear all black... My daughter pointed out Kylo Ren didn't wear jeans...
I said he does on casual Fridays, but she said that's not mentioned in any Star Wars literature.
I stand by my argument though.
Well, I hope everyone exposed to or otherwise effected by this bomb cyclone sharknado blizzard faired well and didn't freeze.
Stay warm and be well... It's actually looking to be even colder on the east coast the next few days.

Yes, weather is going to be frigid 'til the middle of next week. At least it's bright and sunny out there today, so I might actually get out of the house for a bit later.

Did they use a mix intended for slightly cooler climates? Mid to high 90's doesn't make roads melt here. That kind of temp did make it impossible for one road to harden properly when a new surface was put down some years ago so it ended up with waves from being driven on too soon that had to be bladed flat.

McGyver

Yeah, I was wondering about that... NPR mentioned this and I was wondering if maybe it was a new mix or something went wrong.

Perhaps part of it had not been mixed well enough since it seems to have been just part of the road?

Yipe! I think the highest I've seen here is 112F. I hope there aren't any serious health problems caused by the heat.

OK, another amusing coincidence. It's 48F outside right now here. Kinda' warm for this early in the day this time of year. It's only almost 4:40 am.

Well, we had single digits last night, and the winds were still high.

It's currently 8ºF, with a projected 17ºF high for the day, though the winds are down to only 10mph, so not too bad. Unfortunately, they're saying more snow tomorrow evening, and I'm really hoping it's a very, very small amount. I've had enough snow to last me the rest of the year.

Our part of Missouri in in the 30s now and dipping to teens later, may be some freezing rain as well later.
Staying indoors as usual but son-in-laws work place cosed today and that means short paycheck again.
What with holidays and him getting sick one day we are struggling to keep our bills paid this month.
At least we have emergency stuff, heaters and lights, in case the ice storm puts our power down.
