Afternoon all! Another gloomy muggy day in Opua with 'winter' only 20 days away. This time last year I was housesitting, huddled over a heater, wrapped up in winter woollies and looking forward to months of the same. This year I'm still wearing summer dresses, my quilt is still in the cupboard, and my fire is unlit. I know it's saving me money but, contrarily, I want it to cool off and let me be ensconced in front of my warm fire, rug over my knee, and to be cosy in bed, not overwarm. I'll stop whining now 
I hate when Mother Nature doesn't co-operate. All last week we had rainy days, and this week it's warm and sunny. I had to run errands today, and it was really warm walking in the sun. Luckily it's been cooling nicely in the evening, so I haven't yet found a reason to turn on the a/c.

It is! And I never thought I'd ever be happy to see it. But a functioning, drying, warming heater makes a big difference to my outlook
How was your day, Miss B? I'm sad to say I had a crappy night and was up at 9.30am because I'd given up trying to sleep. I have a doc's appt today with a locum and locums always give me the screaming abdabs. Hence no sleep the night before. She will probably turn out to be lovely but, I always get anxious when I can't see my own doctor.

Yeah, I'm pretty set in my ways with what doctor I see, but sometimes it's an unexpected appointment and the doctor is away, so you see whomever is taking over the practice during that time. I've had that happen twice over the years with my Internist, and it turned out just fine.
