Morning all! A peaceful night's sleep with no spasms has perked me up no end. It's a gloomy, cool day in Opua but I cares not!

Pen, I'm on some antibiotics for the first time in donkeys years after my visit to the doc...my lifestyle normally protects me from the lurgies. This one is only a baby lurgy, caught before it grew up.

Glad you had a good day off, Terre, a nice break before the fray tomorrow.

Thank you, Terre, so am I So much easier to treat a baby lurgy than a full grown tanty throwing jobbie!

Hey, Pen, how'd you be? Hope it's a nice day in Melbs.

Overcast...starting to get cooler. I'm busy with reports at the moment...

 

[Lorraine]

Reports?! Again?! Or is this still rather than again?

 

[Pendraia]

We do reports twice a year once around now and then again in term 4. It will take approx 3-4 weekends to get them done.

We have a new system this year so I'm happy it will be a little bit quicker.

That can't be an easy process. I don't envy you one bit.

Neither do I, Miss B! I think having to spend your weekends doing school reports is cruel and unusual punishment!

 

[Lorraine]

Morning! Yes, it is isn't it. 7.22am to be precise and after tossing and turning for hours I've given up and got up. I've got the fire lit, a coffee brewing, I'm looking out the window at the fog, and I'm hoping it clears before 10.30 as I'm due to go on a BBQ cruise out into the bay on a friend's boat. It's always nice to see where you are going...

Hope you enjoy your cruise and yes writing reports is cruel and unusual punishment as they take so long to do! At least this year it's dot points and not narrative style.

And let me guess, Pen, another done for love jobbie?! People who say teachers have a cushy job want shut up in a classroom of 30 kids whilst trying to mark exams.

 

[Pendraia]

lol...or try managing a class with a child with severe behaviour issues...most of us have at least one in the room.

Younger teachers complain more...they don't see the job as a vocation but leadership tends to be made up of older people who do see the job as a vocation and expect the extra hours to be done to complete stuff.

I'm somewhere in the middle...I don't mind doing a bit extra but the days where I would work to 9pm each night after school are gone.

I have a coworker whose wife is a teacher. From his comments there are quite a few evenings when she is up late doing school work.
My sympathies.

It's just part of the job Terre...I get frustrated at this time of year when the weekends disappear but that's life. I used to spend too much time at home doing things but I'm trying to balance things better these days.
