Isn't there some kind of bridge or somethign between DS and Carrara?

Dana

nope... no bridge... not even a path or a grotty walkway.. nada

if you don't have Carrara ( shame ) and you would like one of my wacky models send me a PM here on the forum and if it's not to big I'll email the OBJ to you for you to use. ;)

I have Carrara 7 (Pro?). I was always intimidated by the interface, and never got anything done with it.

This iray render took awhile to complete...a back yard place for bugs to play...with lights, and a sink :)

Know what you mean....this is like a dream back yard :) Sure hope that I can get the preview to show something besides black....so I can set up all the little bugs on the counter, playing their instruments...lots of room for their "stage"...haha. I'm going to attempt to export the scene as an .obj to use in Poser....things could be set up there, and poses saved, and then the "band" could be easily set up again in Studio. We'll see if it works :)

Woo! Got a converter set to use M4 & V4 clothes on G8 figures. Now all that wardrobe won't go to waste if I use G8. This PC sale is going to break my budget! Thank goodness my company gave us an extra bonus for winning a contract extension. Once that's gone, it gone. Decided to spend it all on myself this time.

Wow....converters are nice...I've sure gotten a lot of use out of Blacksmith's texture converter....all my old M4 and V4 stuff can be spread out to use on newer figures :) I'll post some later, so you can see.

Andy is wondering what just landed in HIS backyard....haha. Can't believe how well it transferred. It is heavy weighted, so it slows the computer down a little, but it works :)

We were recently talking about Blender....if you click back to page 255 of this thread, I did some demonstrations with how to render and get around in Blender. The fact that it's still free is always appealing :) There's also discussion with Stezza in later pages about his Carrara models, so this may also be useful to you. Then around page 260-261, I do some demonstrations of converting 3D Warehouse models to .obj and importing into Poser....my favorite being, of course....

And know what you mean about the budget....I decided this year would be a 3D Christmas....no package porch pirates to deal with, and I'm getting to do new things that I didn't previously have to do with....so I'll be having a ball this year :)

Oooo, the RSSY conversion stuff looks interesting....this caught my eye....RSSY 3Delight to Iray Converter....now if that thing works, it would be extremely useful :) And the RSSY Hair Converter....I have a lot of M4 hair....it's easy to use in Poser on other figures, but Studio likes to follow a narrow track as far as crossing over between figures...so the hair converter would recover a lot of Neftis and Aprilysh stuff :)

Hope you don't mind, but I had to share this picture of my great niece. She had a kidney transplant years ago and now she's a high school senior. I'm so proud of her. :balloon03:

I didn't see the 3delight to Iray converter.
