I'll give it a test run tomorrow probably. I'll allow some time for others to report on the performance, to see how it goes. Right now I'm running the original version of Poser 11 with no updates, in order to avoid the library issues.

Supposedly those have been fixed, or at least some of them. My biggest complaint was not seeing any thumbnails for a while after the Library settled into place. I'm used to seeing everything instantly in Poser9, so was surprised when it took a while to see them in PP11. I'll be glad to see that fixed.

Yeah, had the same problem, plus the library had gotten so "jumpy"...click on what you think you were aiming for, and stuff would jump all over the place, either to the wrong folder, or stall and crash out. It was taking too much time to deal with it. Finally decided to just reinstall the original Poser 11 since at least the library was accessible then.

Thanks for catching that Miss B :) That must have been a missed link from the original list...happens during the pasting in of the link in the URL box sometimes.

There are a number of lists like this in the old thread that I'm slowly crossing over to this thread, so that folks can still get the benefit of the information.

You're welcome Sky. I also found the Evergreens Backgrounds link took me to the main Freebies page, not to that freebie. Also, when I tried to do a search for it, I couldn't find it, so it may have been taken down since you did your original list on the old forum.

I did grab the Wrapped Christmas Gift Box, as that can come in handy for any occasion.

Just clicked the evergreens, and yeah, that's probably a case of a lost freebie, since the list was done awhile back. It's actually amazing that most of them are still around, considering all the transitions that are taking place. A lot of freebies have been pulled from Rendo, RDNA links don't function, Poserworld links are now incorrect...the only thing that's stable, so far, is ShareCG, CP, and DAZ.

Yes, there are reasons that I do not link to freebies that I might post to Rendo. My freebies over there are very much in flux. I deleted everything I had on the site a while ago - gallery and freebies both - and nowadays I only have a small few items on there. And I may end up doing the same again, so I never post links to anything I have on Rendo for that reason. I do post my DA, ShareCG, and website links, though, as those don't ever change, and won't go anywhere unless the sites go down.

Rendo is sort of a revolving door, and ever since they killed the search function some years back, their freebie section has been basically useless. You used to be able to search all the way back and pull up the old P4 and Gen2/3 freebies, and you cannot even do that now. And I know many of them are still there. But you can't get to them, of course. LOL

I think, for the most part, the only freebies that are safe on Renderosity are those created by established vendors like SAV, Fabi, OOT and the like. Others who aren't as well known, well they could disappear at any point in time.

Hi everyone. :ninja: I've been busy working on my Luna outfit, but I've been meaning to pop back in and comment on @Maja cloth sim tutorial. It's a good intro to the cloth room. There is one thing in it though, that I only recently learned myself is not true. You can save cloth sims! This can be a god send if Poser starts to get finicky about them, especially if you have several in a scene.

So once you've run your sim, go to File -> Export -> WavefrontOBJ. It'll ask you what items you want to save, unselect everything but the dynamic object. On the next screen make sure you have As Morph Target (no world transformations) selected. Name the file and save it. Now in the pose room, select the dynamic object got to Object -> Load Morph Target. It will ask you to find a .obj file, so just find the one you just saved above. Give the morph a name you want to save it under and you're done.

Now you have your simulation 'saved'. This means if something gets corrupted in the dynamic sim file, you still have your simulation, or. . . you can resave the dynamic item to your library, and the morph will become an available morph for any scene you load the version of the prop in.

This is useful for scenes like this (which I'm still building, and this is just a quick render) with lots of cloth sims.

Oops, forgot about that. Well if you save it out as an OBJ, then import it as an OBJ, you would have a prop that's shape is that simulation, so you would still in effect be saving the sim in a specific pose.

Okay, cool. So we could just save the simmed "prop" and load the cloth item back into a scene with the posed figure. That works at least! LOL :D
