If you're ever looking for reference for historical clothing, The Internet Library has books upon books about historical clothing that are all in the public domain. I love to look at the catalogs for men's and women's clothing, especially 19th century clothing as the catalogs a lot of the time show the clothes from all sides and sometimes, even historical cloth patterns :) If you like, I can help you find some.

That's how I do , mostly looking for the pattern to better understand the design. If you have any links it would be great just PM it to me so I have it under hand when needed, thank you in advance !

@Willowisp , Here is the prototype of the Lumberjack ;) reminds me so much of the Russian folk style clothing for a guy. I did once long time ago Lumberjack for DAZ, it is included with D|S .

Of course it is just a simple base for now , I don't have yet D2M beta rig so it is as far I can go, at this stage I usually temp rig it for testing of the topology in movement before continue, running some dynamics and replace the final version with the rigged old obj

You mean like this? The diamond garment cutter : Goldsberry, Doran & Nelson. [from old catalog] : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

I'm afraid there aren't too many texts with patterns included, but I will look :).
Wow , now I have job for the next 100 years .. amazing , I am not working with MD but that is a paradise for those that use it.
I made my patterns in PS to use with Zbrush and dynamics for the base stuff . There was a time where I was doing all my clothing at home
thank you for sharing !

I made some research yesterday, the clothing was pretty colorful , looks like the style above I made was for the middle class , the costumes online was pretty pricey for this theme , but with some idea it is actually very easy to put together , I hope you find something for yourself and stay safe !
Yes, those costumes are very pricey. My middle age costume cost me an arm and a leg . Also this from Zoé , my little . But the seller which we choose at Etsy has really high quality stuff and the details are amazing. It was really worth it and we used also go to Middle age festivals ,so there we can wear them .
Here Zoé during a sword fight. (She is the blue one)
Not really Ladylike LOL

I just love what you've been doing with the Hivewire figures, especially now that some certain other place is pumping out things that doesn't mesh with my idea of what I want to work with. Yours does :). You seem to know what your customers want :D Makes me excited for rendering again, which has been lost for me for about a year and a half since my muse took a vacation and never came back...lol.

Brilliant
Can the pants be long trousers with a little flare so we can also use them without the boots? Asking for a friend.

No darling, it is a set , full set and one model not separate parts beside the helmet , like for a game made from one topology and invisible polygons are removed. It will works great also with Animation
Other way the prices gonna be much higher if I have to do each part separate, rigging it separate etc..

If I do a separate clothing, then there will be options and of course huge price differences, but until D2FM are not ready I can't do it, so for now just base character clothing sets.

made some quick rig and tests, need to make the gloves shorter , D2F have much shorter arms in proportion to D2M
You see product would be ready in 2 days if the beta was final .. for now just testing ..

Thank you , I guess we all needed D2FM for some inspirations ,as much for me as for you and others. So I know exactly what you talking about , and I always listen to my customers , wishing the day was at last 48h to fulfill the wishes .
I love to be inspired and inspire others , that's what we are here for !

Since I am going into the rich in details Victorian Era for a while now, here is the first one the London Bobby Metropolitan City of London Police Officer historical reconstruction for D2M, ready for rigging . Complete with 2 props, club and candle lantern. If you own Streets of London set it could be the great background for the future renders with this dude.
Below base modeling in Zbrush and folded fabric in color with textures , main Top render with iray ( no picture )
