A day or soon later is Elf Appreciation Day at Bayou Academy. To own a House Elf in the US is unconstitutional, so the Elves work under contract, rather than for masters (not that anyone ever imagines breaking their contract).
This is celebrated by a picnic and barbecue. Dr Proctor, from the Boat Works (who takes care of the Muggle Mobile) decided to join the festivities since his wife was in California visiting the great-grandchildren.
Dr Proctor has been in the US since the Civil War and has something to say about dealing with bad memories.

Making progress on this. My version of the Powerpuff Girls, from my story, "Powerpuff Girls: Evolution".
Left to right: Bubbles, Buttercup, Dr. Laura Featherstone, and Blossom.
They are in the underground bunker that Professor Utonium built for them right before he disappeared. This is right after they were awakened too soon by the alien invasion that knocked out all of Townsville's power.
This is the final version of the suit and the characters. Dr. Featherstone was the professor's partner. He took her on after he had to put the girls in suspended animation. They were losing control of their powers and their bodies were undergoing a metamorphosis. The power outage woke them. While the metamorphosis was pretty much complete, their powers are still an unknown.
