You know something interesting (to me) just happened. A thread about a much loved Poser centric website being gobbled up by a competing company has just gone from upset and uncertainty to fruit and pet stories (not belittling Glitterati's daughter's injury at all). Other places would have seen this subject go from bad to worse in record time, but not here. Who are you people and what planet are you form? :)

Oh, no. Something strange is happening to me. I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I don't know if I can stand the civility much longer.

Thanks, guys, for making me feel welcome. :)
Your welcome...I just love this place and it's my 3D home which I miss dreadfully if it goes missing like it did a while back.

That's because we consume honey instead of kool-aid.
Shhh...shhh...no telling that some of that honey has actually turned into mead...

Laid back moderation? So many forums would have had Mods going nuts to get back on topic (and no, I don't mean any particular site, it's most of them).

Community is neighbors talking over the back fence, or at the kitchen table. Like this.
Yep...this is so true.

Oh, okay, I'll stop posting fruit and food... right after this requested banana and strawberry combo!:sneaky:

Am I terribly bad that I looked at this and thought you were missing a strawberry? lol...great work Earl.

Miss B, we have a farmer's market each Thursday arvo in Paihia: veges, fruit, cheese, wine, limoncello, sourdough bread, fresh fruit juices, preserves, fish, free range eggs and meat.
Yum Lorraine...supermarkets are so boring these days...that reminds me I have a bottle of limoncello somewhere...

Thanks, Pendraia. I've been doing a lot of props lately, in particular food props that I'm going to offer in a food pack. Or I should say packs, starting with fruit. I'll think I'll make them my first Hivewire offer if the QAV team will accept them. If not, well... we'll see.

And of course, you've seen my bedroom... well, not my bedroom, but the props I'm making.;)

Now, since i don't buy at daz since the bad movement against some users ( i was one) and don't buy a lot at rdna, cause there is also almost nothing for Miki, i don't care about both sides.
But i don't like it at all.

I've only read the first pages in this thread, sorry about it, but 47 pages *ugh* and i bet, everything is already said.
I'm happy, that i found hivewire and that rendo is still alive, so i know, where i can spend my money :)

Freya, I haven't done much for Miki but I do like creating for the Poser natives. Which Miki version do you use? (Please say Miki 4.) :)

I was only into Bryce 4 back then, so wasn't at all familiar with Zygote back then.

...for a quick history lesson, Zygote originally produced much of the early Poser content (including the first Victoria and Michael). When Zygote decided to focus on 3D medical models in 2000, it's Poser division left and created the Digital Art Zone (which we now know as DAZ).

Wow I did not know that...I knew that DAZ was not the program...Studio is the program...DAZ is the site...I also knew that poser and DAZ were together...but not that Poser created DAZ...pickle mine...you learn something new everyday!

Well, not exactly... Zygote was an independent content producer and not part of Fractal Design (which owned Poser as well as Painter at that time). I do think it would be fair to say though that without Poser, DAZ wouldn't exist.

Zygote was the primary content producer at the time and their "Freebie of the Week" was a huge deal to Poser users. I did attend a Poser promo event in Santa Monica which Zygote did most of the presenting (selling the new Poser 4).... so they were obviously helping Poser with marketing. I met Chad Smith, one of the Zygote Poser team there. A year later, Chad introduced me to Chris and Dan Farr and I became one of their first PAs.

I knew of Zygote and early human models, but didn't realize that DAZ originated from it. Interesting, learned something new. And the first Michael and Victoria were Zygote Poser content...even more interesting.
