Ken, if you ever update the Australian birds, especially the Lyre Bird - the more delicate head like on the female Monal would be perfect for the Lyre Bird as the present head on this model is rather a touch too large for there are not the morphs to refine it like it should appear.

Nice work on these birds

That set is still on the list for updating... and yes, I know the updating is taking forever. As I said numerous times, I'm trying to mix updates with some new sets so I have some income following in (because my updates are free, there isn't a lot of revenue from them). Once I wrap up Gamebirds2, I'm going to go back to updates and try to get 3-4 more sets out by the end of the year. I want to do one more "new" set for Christmas. Next Spring, I'll do another big update push as well as new set for the Audubon sale.

There will be changes to the Lyre Bird as well as many others with the improved models I have (or planning to revised). Trying to remember off the top of my head, I think the Lyrebird used the gamebird base. I do plan quite a few new morphs and features on that. One thing I'd like to add is the row of row of side feathers along the trunk of the body (as I have in the Duck models) that will blend the bottom edge of the folded wing into the body.

Another of my birds from my upcoming Gamebirds2 project, this time in Iray.

The White-browed Guan gets its name for obvious reasons. It is endemic to the Caatinga region in north-eastern Brazil. This Guan is listed as "Vulnerable" with less than 10,000 adults left and a rapid decreasing population trend (with the current fires in Brazil, it may nbe now "endangered"). Degradation of dry forests and arboreal caatinga, as well as a strong hunting culture in the region are the causes for its decline. The one hope for the survival of this bird are a number of protected areas including Raso da Catarina Ecological Station (Bahia), Serra da Capivara National Park (Piauí), Serra das Confusões National Park, Sete Cidades National Park, Parque Ambiental de Teresina and Pernambuco (Serra Negra Biological Reserve, Mauricio Dantas Private Reserve).

Rendered in Iray without any post work. Models included Stonemason's "Through The Woods" and my Songbird ReMix Gamebirds2 and Perching Places (branches).

OMG, those are amazing pieces of artwork. So much detail, and I don't know what type of bird it is, but the one with the white coat and dark dots, almost like a snow leopard. The second one with the multicolored wings is pretty amazing as well.

I know Chris draws very small images the size of a quarter, but actually working with those tiny paper birds must take amazing patience.

Here's an iray render of the Great Currasows (which from the number of renders I've done of them are probably my favorites from the set).
I've turned the set over to my testers as I tweak textures and material settings a little... so it's getting closer to being complete.

My testers are a little backed up with other projects, so I find myself with the unusual position of a little free time. This free time has allowed me to actually "use" my latest set (what a novel concept! lol). So here's yet another Iray render...

The Koklass Pheasant is found in Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tibet and eastward to mainland China. It is found in coniferous and mixed forests with steep terrain. It eats a variety of seeds, including acorns, berries and buds. It occasionally eats insects and worms.

The Koklass Pheasant overall is not endangered with 6.6 million adults within its range. There are nine different subspecies and five of these are close to listed as "Vulnerable" due to habitat destruction for farming, logging and human development.

The image portrays a male in display mode.

Will you add this pheasants also to your portfolio?

Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) - Have seen this one in the Game Birds, but he looks ... not so good (from the picture in the description)

Silver Pheasant (Lophura nycthemera)

Gold Pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus)

King Pheasant (Syrmaticus reevesii)

Lady Amherst's pheasant (Chrysolophus amherstiae)

Himalayan monal (Lophophorus impejanus), also known as the Impeyan monal and Impeyan pheasant

Please take this pictures just as suggestions (and maybe a little as personal requests). I hope they will find a way in the Songbird Universe sooner or later. And please don't take my opinion about the Game Bird pheasant personal. :sorry:

Flashy, flashy, flashy. Those are some showy birds. I would happily make room in my runtime for any of them.

The Himalayan Monal (m/f) is in my upcoming set (Gamebirds v2) and your Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) is found in Gamebirds v1. Gamebirds v1 is a very early Songbird Remix set and while "State of the Art" when in was released in 2006 is now very dated.

I am currently starting to rework the gamebird model from Gamebirds v1 for its update re-release. As with all my updates, Gamebirds v1 will undergo some significant geometry changes, a complete rewriting of the rigging and controls (adding in dozens of new morphs) and texture map refreshing. It will have a both native DAZ Studio and Poser versions that support Iray, 3Delight, Superfly and Firefly renderers. These update take time so don't expect anything until late fall.

I've pretty much added everything I think I wanted to add to the original 2006 Gamebird model. Now, come the challenge of saving what morphs I can from the original model, then trying to replicate those I couldn't and then (whew!), add a ton of new ones. Here's a side-by-side of what the geometry changes include...

I forgot to add that the thighs are now sewn into the hip in the new model

Looks heaps better than the original. In your comparison image, I like the plumper look and the fact that the feathering looks more natural. The thighs appear better placed, probably better to pose now and look natural.:balloon03:

I'm having trouble loading the Penguin. The DS version tells me to look at the log file and the poser version just did nothing when I tried to load it. Here's the log file showing both errors:

For all you Peafowl owners, there's been a small update which fixes a pose and adds many new morphs to the Guineafowl base (used with the Congo Peafowl). To get it, just go to your HW account and redownload the Peafowl package. The reason for the Guineafowl base update is to support the upcoming Gamebirds v2 set.

Are there any LAMH preset anywhere for the penguins? Especially for the chick, so it can look all cute and fluffy?

Also ... the promos look more 'feathered' than what I'm seeing. Are there any special 3DL settings I should be using to get a similar look? One not so 'layered planes' around the belly area?
