Hi everyone...up from my nap :)

Miss B, I didn't anticipate Jo having quite so much personality as he got older. When young, he mostly just darted around like a normal goldfish, but over time, I can only liken the change to that of what you'd see in a playful dolphin. Every now and then he really shocks me....like today for instance. The thing is, he gets "trained" to routine, and he notices a change in it. After I changed the water in his tank earlier today, I gave him his treat...helps him settle down from having his environment messed with. I then proceeded to fix myself a quick lunch...so he's observing my activity and rattling pans, etc. I sit down to eat, and knowing that he just had his treat, didn't share any "lunch" with him. Thought nothing of it, got up from the table to rinse my plate at the sink....the moment I turned my back to rinse the plate, I felt all this water hitting the back of my legs, and heard a slapping sound...I turned around toward the sound, and there he was, giving me "the look", with the whole front of his tank soaking wet (I always leave a bit of a crack in the top at the front for easy feeding...so that's how water, though it would be difficult, could get through). That little rascal wanted his lunch...the way he saw it, I had eaten without him, and he slapped the water to plead his case...hahaha. I've had him wet me up on one hand before, when I'm "paying too much attention to the computer and not to him"...but this took it to a new level, since he slapped the water at just the right amount to reach my leg halfway across the room. So, every now and then he surprises me...so I really can't say what he's capable of doing. He's a funny little companion :)

I'll say! I never would've thought fish of any kind would have that kind of playful personality, though I'm sure he wasn't actually being "playful" at that moment, if you know what I mean. :D

Sky, that fish is just absolutely adorable!! Very cute little goldfish! :)

Nataani's DS version has finally been submitted to QA. I just pushed the button a few minutes ago. WHOO!

I think I am going to take the rest of tonight off and just chill for a while with my yarn and crochet hooks...LOL. :sneaky:

Congrats Seliah :) Now we watch the store in anticipation :) I bet you do need some rest now, after much hard work!

Jo is over 10 inches long now...so he's getting big enough to make a few waves when he wants to...haha. He's just a very ordinary comet goldfish, what they call feeder fish at the pet store, usually under a dollar. He just turned out to be a little different :)

I just think he's really cute. So brightly colored, too! We have a single Betta fish, but he's not as brightly colored as even your goldie here. And I wouldn't dare try a goldfish with an open bowl top.. not with our cats. Daisy would eat him up for lunch. Unlike the Betta, which has figured out that she can't get to him, and so he has great fun taunting her when she's huddled in front of his bowl and eyeing him... :roflmao:

And yeah, I am definitely taking a bit of a break tonight. I reinstalled Pro2010 last night... I'll work on the Poser materials for this guy tomorrow.

For tonight, I'm going to curl up under fuzzy blankets with a crochet hook and yarn and play. :sun:

I suppose having his tank right next to my workstation has provided the consistent contact needed to "train" him to a routine.

Sounds good Seliah...some down time...we all need it. I've been doing light things today, and avoiding long phone calls. My trip to the doctor yesterday, and finding out that my new insurance didn't cover my expensive blood pressure medicine was more than a little disappointment. I get so weary of insurance issues...health care favors the young and well, and penalizes sickness and age. Sometimes it seems it's not worth the effort...will have to pursue seeing if the medication can be changed...and this past year just got adjusted to it. Anyway...I needed a little comic relief from Jo today.

Good morning Terre :) Miss B, I took your suggestion and created a second free throw pose with bending at the knees :) Seliah, so far, in testing the poses, they are all landing in the right place...so no more search and seizure :) Time for rest now, I'll be on later

Hi everybody :) Got my lab report yesterday, and it was more of a disappointment than the med prices. I'll just say that I'll have to focus on even more rest and an even stricter regimen in terms of limited diet and being careful about physical exertion. I'm bored just thinking about it...and of course there's reason to be concerned. But worry won't solve a thing...so that's all I need to share about that.

I've been thinking that it would be good to at least get some of my larger pose sets converted to DS4. It won't require all that much work...just importing the original Poser scene files and re-saving them as .duf files. If the scenes are simple, they convert nicely. So far the only one that had some unusual problems was the Last Supper set, some of the poses lost their placement upon import...but considering how large the scene is, it's good that it even opened. I was impressed that though it's a very large scene, I could still rotate it with only a little lag hesitation. I've gotten all 13 character conversions to .duf completed, and only one gave me some trouble in the hand area...but isolating just that pose in a separate scene file improved the conversion. I may do that for the whole set...again, not a lot of work, just patience re-saving. The major work is in the scene setups...so for now I may do just some conversions, in order to dial down the stress level. I learn more rapidly through repetition anyway, so this will be good for learning to be at ease using DS4. And... it will be good to have the biblical sets completed by Easter this year.

I dropped out of 3D work last spring, when I got the first negative lab report, and with much rest and a very strict regimen, there was significant improvement within about four months. I was hoping that improvement would remain stable as more activity was slowly introduced. Unfortunately, it didn't....and I'm hoping I won't have to completely drop out of 3D work again...because I've been having fun with it again, and was looking forward to learning more. Just sharing this much, so if you notice that I'm dialing down in terms of time, it means I'm trying to discipline myself to do what's best, even against my own impulses to be more involved. In short, skylab has to behave...even though skylab doesn't really want to

Sky, definitely take care of you, mmkay? 3D will always be here. So you make sure you take care of yourself. ;)

That said - I think you will find that it's much easier to conver poses from Poser TO Studio, than it is to convert poses from Studio TO Poser. So if you ever intend to make like a Poser and DS version of your poses... once you're comfy with how DS saves poses, I would recommend you build them and save them in your native Poser first.

Then you just have to load the .pz2's in DS and re-save them out as .duf files. DS is able to read the .pz2's; Poser can NOT read .duf's. Just a little tip. :)
