Well, I've looked at the Hivewire animals again and again during the last two years without buying, not sure - me being a simple hobbyist- if I could integrate them into DAZStudio. Then DAZ announced the transfer. The big cats came. I bought. Liked them. Was really looking forewards to get the other animals, too.
Then - this.
As I understood, the big cat got some sort of overhaul to make it wellbehaving in DAZStudio. Will the other animals still get that as well?
Because then I'll start being a customer here.
And no. I don't thing DAZ did handle this well. Totally not.

They've always behaved well in Studio. All the HW created products have stand alone, full versions for both DAZ Studio and Poser.
The changes being made are:
Those older products before Iray & Superfly are getting materials optimized for those render engines.
Laurie (the awesome CWRW, who collaborates with HW on so many things including the Big Cat, House Cat and Horse products) has tweaked some settings and materials.
This was done for the Big Cat items and the House Cat items (which I'll be working on to get updated for our store this coming week, given that they won't be at DAZ), and we're all working on the Horse items. A few minor things were added, but again, they're tweaks.

The only changes really required to sell at DAZ were probably repackaging with the new readme.
I've been using both kitties in DS since they were released and they work well.

Another note:
I know some DAZ customers rely completely on DAZ's DIM for installing products. While our products (and those of any other store but DAZ) don't come in DIM format, there are products out there (both free and a pay for product sold at DAZ) which will create DIM files for you, and you can turn ANY product or freebie into something that DIM can install for you.
We have all our files in zip format and there are instructions in our forums on how to install manually for those that want to do so.

Brigg, you will absolutely love all the animals. We have quite a few people here who use the HiveWire products (animals and human) in DS.

@brigg Each product page here will tell you if that (HW or CWRW and some others as well) product has been updated yet to include Iray and Superfly MATs. Several were done after Iray and Superfly came out so they are all good to go. ALL do work in both DS and Poser natively, but some older ones still only have Firefly and 3Delight MATs. And btw those MAT updates on HW animals and my CWRW products are FREE All that is required is some patience as I slog through updating them all
