Yes, that is quite a mouthful!

Oh joy, oh rapture! My bank's website has crashed, all debit card transactions being declined, peeps all over the country be ready to flatten someone, poor people on the help desk be harried but still polite. First day back for a lot of businesses and this happens. Big oops.
Sorry to hear that Lorraine. Not good news, that's for sure. Hopefully they'll get it fixed quickly.

Well that doesn't work then...
@Lorraine, oh no! That's no good...

Just got back from a long lunch out at Yarrambat. Took my mum and dad out for their Birthday and Christmas presents and my son and his partner for his birthday which is today.

Meant to do some more work when I got home but really feel like having a nanna nap instead...only had one glass of wine with the meal but I'm feeling nice and full.
I had salmon steak on Ciabatta bread with poached egg and beetreet relish with baby spinach leaves followed by a snickers pavlova. Oh and forgot to mention we all shared a grazing plate with dips, grissini, flatbread, fetta, sun dried tomatos and olives.
Really, really nice...

Things are back to normal for me at the bank website and my debit card is once again clearing (it's most disconcerting when 'declined' comes on the screen and I know it shouldn't). There are still customers who can't access their accounts or use their cc's and dc's...Westpac is in frantic fixit mode.

Nom, nom, Pen! I had spaghetti and meatballs out of a carton...tres ordinaire. I just can't be bothered cooking in this house so microwave meals will be the norm for the next week. I did go round to my aunty's on Sunday night for a roast lamb dinner...that was yum.

This is one of the strangest houses I've ever sat. There are no books, no magazines, the computer is connected to a 65" screen which they must only use for movies cos it's next to impossible to do any work on it, and the house is like a show home...very impersonal. I've made my usual mess: things scattered around, shoes kicked off, and things out handy on the kitchen benches, which would probably send the owners into a tizz if they saw it. It'll be all back to normal when they get back...cold, clinical and impersonal. I CAN'T WAIT to get home to my homey, comfy and messy boat which has 'me' stamped all over it. It has been an eye opener being here and seeing how other people live...

Glad your card is working again...

Nom, nom indeedy! It was very yummy! All of the meals looked nice. My eldest saw my salmon and decided that he wanted that as well as sharing a beautiful Gardeners Plate (Think like a ploughmans but with stuff like roast beef, proscuito and other yummy extras. So he ate two mains plus dessert and helping us with the grazing plate.

Ouch...does sound weird to me also. I live in a cosy clutter even though I'm forever trying to declutter the house. How do they do it?

I really don't know how they do it especially considering there's three teenagers live here as well as mum and dad plus two cats. Spooky, possums!

Look what I've got today! Only took six months ;) $113.50NZ and I can change the battery myself.

And remember I said I was going to live on microwave meals? That lasted till I saw a new shop in Mt Eden today...an Italian family making fresh pasta! I got tortellini stuffed with ricotta, parmigiana and parsley...had it with melted butter. So fine.

I used to go to a store a friend found where they made fresh pasta. I used to buy the spinach linguini, and it was so good with Alfredo sauce. Sheesh, now I'm hungry and it's way too late here to eat another dinner. ~ROFL~

Welcome back!

Glad your card is working again Lorraine.

Yeah. Impersonal just doesn't work. I'm more of a Mess upon Mess type person!

How am I ever going to get my apartment baby proofed by the time I pick up the still without a name kitten???

Welcome back Terre and Wilmap!

@Satira, Oh I like Tsuki! That's a beautiful name. When do you pick her up? I'm sure you'll get it done...

Welp, El Nino has finally come through with a proper rainstorm. After at least three years of extreme drought it's about time.

Of course, now we'll start getting the mudslide warnings. And of course I have to be out tonight so I can't just curl up at home and enjoy it. But the food will be good. I'm treating a friend to dinner as her Whatsmas present (slightly belated, since our schedules weren't speaking to each other). By our age most people have too many things anyway. But a good dinner in company is always appreciated.

Whereabouts are you Jodel? I like your Whatmas present. I do the same with my parents. Mum got the point where she was saying she didn't want anything so we starting doing donations in her name or taking her out to lunch. I did that a couple of days ago and we all enjoyed it...

Love that name, Satira. Your little furball is going to love it and you too :)

I tried doing an M6 to Dusk conversion last night on that massive 65" screen which is hooked up to a 32bit computer with Windows 10 (I now officially loathe it), 4gb ram and a pathetic processor. Twice I did the conversion and twice it refused to save it. I barely refrained from throwing the mouse across the room, said some VBW (Very Bad Words), got in a massive huff and watched QI episodes for the rest of the evening.

Apropos of QI, I shall really, REALLY miss Stephen Fry when he retires from the show at the end of the M series. I love Sandy Toksvig but she's just not Stephen, sob, sob

Great to see all the old faces reappearing within our midst...
