Yeah, I've seen quite a few of those sliding stops.
A couple of years ago when my mother was visiting we went to the county fairgrounds as a high school rodeo was taking place. Some horses had been training longer than others and it showed. Some kids were competing for the first time and were there pretty much just to practice and start getting their horses used to an audience. Some of them were actually quite good. One boy's cutting horse was having a lot of fun with what it obviously considered a game. I don't know how he scored in the end though.

I always try to choose projects that nobody else is doing, to make sure my work is original, and not conflicting with commercial projects. The western and rodeo stuff, at least back in 2013, nobody had done. It was a good learning experience for me. I'd like to do a Native American set also, if time permits. I know there are Genesis sets, but none for Poser of which I'm aware.

Hi Miss B, how are you this evening :)

Dusk is finally dressed for the part...whew, that was a workout, finding all the inj and textures. Anyhow, we can get down to business now.

Here's the first pose completed, the slide stop for Harry. For some reason the pose tries to load with him tilted forward slightly...so he may need to be rotated some in order for him to have his backside lowered properly. Otherwise, I think everything is working okay.

I will say this....you have to have nerves of steel when dealing with Harry's mane...if I had some preset poses for it, I could turn out the poses a lot faster. Most of the time has been invested in dealing with the mane and tail. With Dusk/Rodrigo, once I got him dressed, I could save the scene and just keep using the same one to import into projects and begin posing...but Harry's mane is just not a one size fits all situation. That's when my eyes get tired and I have to take a break. The rendering results are much more realistic, if one has the patience for the scene preparation.

For whatever reason, there does not seem to be the same enthusiasm for Dusk poses as is the case for M4. I was hoping that using the Rodrigo character would show the potential in Dusk, so that's why I was making the extra effort to use him.

Miss B, it always helps to have a visual to go by, especially animating, but I try to always use reference photos, or still shots from videos like these. I realized that when I did the Mil Horse poses three years ago, the technology was not as advanced, and I'd probably benefit from taking time to watch these...and thought I'd share them, if there was interest.
