In response to request for instrument links: The instruments I use for animations usually are not free products, as they are fully rigged. Here are the links and info.


The RAMA DRUMS are fantastic, fully rigged cymbals, kicks and high hat. Select BD_pedal or BD_pedal 1 in order to control the bass kicks, and select hihat to control the hat kick. Best cymbal and drum shell mats I've seen, and the transparent heads are very much like Evans.

Yeah Miss B It took me awhile to find the archived chat thread...the first version had all the lists and info, the sequel was mostly chatting, and it wasn't up very long before the whole forum went down. So I had to dig to find this...haha It made sense to grab it while I had in front of me...since yes, it was a lot of work at the time. I tried to be generous with information whenever people would ask about things, so now we can still enjoy those efforts. Glad the links transferred over, and didn't have to each be redone

I did discover that the tables will not transfer...so everything I had previously set up as a table, that information is lost, since it drops the table when pasted in.

I was hoping to move forward creating this scene, and managed to get it done. It just took a little adjustment to the construct dome ground plane to create the shore. Here's the ground parameter box, and the render. It's about ready for some Galilean fishermen

Looking good. I also played with the ground morphs one day, and it was interesting to see what you can accomplish. I haven't done it for a render as yet.

Hey Miss B I had been considering using a terrain and dome...but the more I messed with the built in settings within Poser 11, I realized I could just make it there...the mats are even a part of Poser 11, and I noticed there are even some plants in PP11 too as would be seen for shoreline growth...so it was neat to find that out. The only outside stuff used were the boats and the lake water plane.

I'm coming on briefly to call attention to what might be an exceptional quality freebie...I never used A3, but there's a full body texture set, beautiful eye textures and an accompanying light set by Daybreak on ShareCG that are worth considering, especially if the eyes could work with Hiro.

There's also an archway construction kit for Poser 11 users that may come in handy.

Wow, that is one heck of a long list there, Sky! That's a lot of work to get it all collected that way. That's a very helpful list, too. Thank you for posting all of those.

I'm coming on briefly to call attention to what might be an exceptional quality freebie...I never used A3, but there's a full body texture set, beautiful eye textures and an accompanying light set by Daybreak on ShareCG that are worth considering, especially if the eyes could work with Hiro.

All of the Generation 3 textures are pretty much interchangeable. M3 skins work on Luke, Maddie, Hiro, Aiko, Victoria, David, etc. Same for all of the others. This was one of the best features of that generation - the skins were almost completely interchangeable.

The one exception with Aiko and Hiro 3 is, if I remember correctly, the THIGH material zones. If you use a MAT pose to apply, say, a Vicky 3 skin to Aiko 3, it will apply to all material zones except for her thighs. You will have to manually apply the textures to that one material zone, but other than that, all Gen3 textures work fine on A3. The same holds true of Hiro 3 as well. Manually apply the one leg zone, but all else applies perfectly fine from the MAT poses.

I still have not installed my 3D programs yet; we're in the home stretch on the 2D project. Just a couple more pages to go and then I have to put it all into a PDF document and I can finally send it out. *WHEW!*

Hey Seliah...glad to hear the 2D project is about wrapped up. It's been a long haul for you. I've completely covered the poser cloth room while you were doing that...haha.

Good to know that about the Gen3 figures. I thought those particular textures looked like a quality job had been done, so thought I'd mention them.

Yes, those were some whopper lists from the original SKYLAB CHAT when it first started. It grew out of people asking enough questions, until eventually it produced a list That gives you an idea how busy we were.

I've been exploring some of the new stuff in Poser 11. You'll find these particular features under Props/Naturals and Props/Primitives, which by the way is where the Construct is if you're setting up a new scene if you don't have it set to load by default under new scene. Materials for it are under Materals/The Construct. I was playing around with it earlier today, and discovered that the "sky" part is 3000 x 1412. The ground plane is circular, so it's basically a dome. There's a two page discussion about it here on RDNA, and English Bob's UV map for it. Today I was just playing around to see if it would really work...all you do it zap in a new sky background that's 3000 x 1412 in both the diffuse and ambient, and that's it.

Here's where the construct is located under Primitives, if you're setting up a new scene, and mats are under The Construct.

Here's the results of just playing around, trying to get something else to show for the sky. I was going for creating a sunset, and did an overkill with the lights some, trying to get rid of the greenish horizon line. I think that's an issue with the water plane and not the construct. Anyway, I'll keep playing with that...but just showing that it can easily be changed. Just a tip for when you start messing with Poser 11, once it's installed.

The other new P11 goodies are under Props/Primitives, which includes some morphing primitives and a Studio Backdrop....and Props/Naturals (rocks, tree stumps, mushrooms and forest related) and Props/Waters Edge (reeds, cattails, lilies). Handy for filling in scenes. The Backdrop has mats under Primitives/Mats.

A sample of the Waters Edge props...I'll be using some of these when I get the boat scenes down to the final stages.
