Sorry to hear my quick fix didn't work. I don't remember if it said in the article I linked, but the guy told me I should restart after deleting the preferences. You're issue might be a little different than mine was because in my case, when I clicked on anything it would un-simulate. So if I clicked on the Pose room tab I would be on frame 30 in the Pose room but no simulation would show. Also when I clicked render in the cloth room, it would render, but it would render with the cloth unsimulated.

Hey GG...actually that's exactly what it's doing...it gets "touchy" if you try to do anything...click the render button, it reverts to zero, or un-simulates, as you've said. I actually rebooted, then re-launched Poser. The only thing I didn't try is setting up a sim with a different robe...I'll try that today. It behaves like a bug...it blinks, or flashes, and then un-simulates. The only thing I can think of that I'm doing differently now that I wasn't doing previously is I have it set to autosave...I could try changing that back and see what happens. I appreciate your checking in on this issue GG...I'll keep trying until I either get results, or SM releases a fix (hopefully) :)

Yeah, that sounds like the same thing that happened to me after all. The other thing I can say is this. While I was troubleshooting with SM I often found that if I created a new file I'd be fine with cloth simulations as long as it was the last thing I did with that figure. So if I ran the simulation adjusted the camera and rendered I was fine. But if I reposed the figure in any way and tried to re-run the simulation I was doomed. The SM guy suggested that instead of re-running the simulation from the cloth room, that in the Pose room I go to the Animation menu -> Recalculate Dynamics - > All Cloth.

Don't know if that helps at all.

It also might be a good idea to open a support ticket with SM. I'm not a fan of the support, but that's partially because I did tech support for 8 years, so I have very strong opinions on how to do it right and wrong. But at least that way they know that more people are having the same issue, and are more likely to fix it in an update. I've definitely found the cloth room less stable in pp11 that in was in 2014.

I remember PDG mentioning re-running sims outside of the cloth room...it was all just so new to me, I tended to want to re-enter, and double check, then re-run...just a habit on my part. I don't recall ever trying to repose the figure, except the first time it happened, I zeroed the body and started over...which is sorta the same thing I guess. It may be possible that somehow the file becomes corrupt after all that tweaking. It's just a real shame, you'd think there would be improvements with every version...but this version is a lot like Poser 8 in that it is the first of a total remake of the program, so some stuff just gets a hairball when you try to use it o_O

Good morning Sky. :)

Seliah, I really appreciate what you did for the old man. My maternal grandmother got lucky and when the apartments she was living in were sold the owners made letting her live there for the rest of her life (terminal breast cancer ) one of the sale conditions. The buyers agreed so my mother and aunt didn't have to find a new place for her.

There are a bunch of free dynamic outfits on Rendo, if anyone is interested in experimenting, plus a free Poser dynamic cloth tutorial by Lully. There's also a dynamic robe for V4, like the one for M4 by Bionic Rooster.

I ran a sim on my workstation that has had problems, using the SAV dynamic pants...and it was successful, and allowed me to render. So, it was either a problem with the robe or a corrupted scene file perhaps...and least I think it's safe to assume that.

Glad your cloth room is working again. It's frustrating when it won't work, especially if the simulation took awhile.
