nobody thinks the gloss is too much, just me ?? :p From what I can see it does depend on condition of coat, time of year and location. I have seen many photos of wold horses where the hair is very rough and messy.

Maybe just a touch on the point of the hip and the shoulder area. It's a whitish blur-blob there that is okay, but part of me wishes it weren't there. It's a nitpick for sure.

I'm STILL working on my special flying harry piece... REALLY different... took a long time to post work/fix ...thinking of posting the before on my own site as well as the after... just to show what all I did, why it takes so long!

On the shine issue....I did use the TB chestnut lightened a bit (and lightened the new wings/changed hue slightly) I noticed that shine on the hip/butt area...just cloned out a bit of the edge, made it more irregular/less... but shine on a coat is good... the PHOTOS Laurie and I take/took can have gloss on the coat that 'happens' to be on the horse... look at my own (converted) coats here: LyneFree30 I didn't PAINT those on, they were on the photo I took. (and FYI all my BW/gray and chestnuts come from the same photo of a chestnut)... and also FYI...I have my chestnut conversions done I think...need to just set up the material zones for the coat/hoof/ear parts and set up as a runtime for my upcoming freebie set...IMPORTANT disclaimer: applying bits of photo coat to a UV map is VERY difficult as all uv mapping WILL/DOES stretch or compress in it's layout, which results in areas of the originating photo doing the same...and then it takes HOURS to puzzle it out, to fix it, yet keep the photo-real look. I KNOW Laurie is doing the BEST she can with both the way the UV is and her photos.... gee whiz folks! If you don't like it, DO POST WORK.... sorry, I feel for her. (sorry, had to speak up). Hugs, Laurie!

ANYWAY... I "had" to make a Carrara render for the background for my idea... darn thing took 9 1/2 hours!! :( I set Best AA on purpose.... 3600X3000 image of Howie's Noble Pines lake...

Garibaldi Express Hair System For DAZ Studio was in the DAZ3D store but it doesn't seem to be listed now. Bit like LAMH with less settings and functions I believe. Does the same thing making 3DL r Curves (Hair). I have doen a few renders in 3DL and Iray using it.

Is it easier than LAMH Szark? I can use the preset LAMH but it crashes everytime I try and make one. I got Garibaldi when it was on a really good sale but never even tried it.

No idea I don't have LAMH sorry but I hardly get any crashes and the ones I do get are my fault with lack of memory and me pushing it too hard for my system. Whether is it easier I have no idea but IMO it isn't easy to do any of it.

Did this as part of a RAD (Render A Day) challenge on Facebook DS Addicts page, The challenge was to either do a Magazine or like the image was a photo submitted to be used as a Mag cover. It uses the TB shapes Napalm Arsenal is working on (this is the Heavy Racer). It's a slightly altered texture of HW TB coat and rendered in 3DL.

I like this so much I'm thinking of doing a "Stallion Directory" cover for all of the HW Breeds. (I just wish my machine would use Iray as I think it would look pretty realistic using Iray)

Very nicely done Rae. I tried a book cover once years ago for a challenge, but didn't do half as well.

Doing a little of mixing and matching with my Winged Horse poses (which should hopefully be in the store soon). The horse pose is Soar2 and the wing pose is Flying6
