• Welcome to the Community Forums at HiveWire 3D! Please note that the user name you choose for our forum will be displayed to the public. Our store was closed as January 4, 2021. You can find HiveWire 3D and Lisa's Botanicals products, as well as many of our Contributing Artists, at Renderosity. This thread lists where many are now selling their products. Renderosity is generously putting products which were purchased at HiveWire 3D and are now sold at their store into customer accounts by gifting them. This is not an overnight process so please be patient, if you have already emailed them about this. If you have NOT emailed them, please see the 2nd post in this thread for instructions on what you need to do

Wow! Thanks for the welcome. And Ken and Laurie, thanks for your stories and encouragement. It makes a difference. Maybe this is where I need to be. Got to make some decisions. Thanks again to you all. :)

And thanks for the link Alisa. I've read it. It's all a bit daunting. Need to digest it all.

@David, Take your time =) there's no rush and no need to make any hasty decisions immediately. You might also take a look around at what all is going on in the hive as far as development and creation and of course the fabulous gallery and artowrk.

Fugasi1968 over at Rendo did amazing things with his Digital Tailor series, but I haven't seen him do anything for a while.

Things like this for Poser, Studio, Blender or whatever would be great.

All the best.

Oh, my gosh! It's been three years???

Time sure does fly when you're having fun.

I know I say it a lot, but I absolutely love it at HiveWire. Certainly, everyone here has been very supportive and encouraging during my journey to become a contributing artist. Don't think I ever would have had the courage to take this step anywhere else.

I can't imagine being told by Marketing Directors what I would be allowed to create or not being able to create my own advertising or promos. No one can know my product as I do. It's one thing to have feedback as to what products perform best and what doesn't. But ultimately, if we don't love what we create, it's going to show.

I'm so SO glad HiveWire exists. And I'm so glad everyone who has stayed through these three years had the confidence HiveWire would mature into a solid presence and would build a loyal customer base.

I hope everyone returning after the unplanned hiatus and those new to HiveWire find it to be as warm and welcoming as I have.

I love you Satira!!!

What a day ... Sorry for not catcing this thread earlier. First off. Poser is not going any where. we're fine and have long term plans to help with content discoverability inside Poser. (That means making it easier for new users to find your goodies). The events of this week have simply underscored the need for that aspect of Poser to get finished sooner than later.

We'll be making content related announcements and filling you in on our response soon.

Happy Rendering!

Thank you for responding Chuck. I means a great deal to have you bounce in!

Lol. Cool, I actually laughed out loud. Never been called out on a forum like that before. And by the man himself. I may have to frame this post after I get my bearings... I'm still dizzy from the spinning :)

You're a complex and funny man!

Nice!

Oh... and talented to boot!

Whew - catching up in between getting products out and a million other things..

Uh..Satria - does this mean I have to put away my baseball bat? (Hey, @LisaB - we need that axe emoticon from the old forums back...that made me laugh :))

I'm still in shock and I will miss RDNA. Hopefully HiveWire can be my new virtual home! :inlove:

We hope so, too, Margy - welcome!! I think we're all still in shock!

Hi all

Another Poser refugee from that-other-place :) /waves

*waves back* Welcome!

Thanks for the update, Chuck!! Great to hear

Cant help but notice the HW3D exclusive artist tag on ya nerd3d... should we be reading anything into that?

Yes, that HiveWire is thrilled to have him here :)

He moved over here from Daz - oh my goodness, a year ago yesterday! There are a bunch more of his products that will go into the store (hopefully some within the next week).

And thanks for the link Alisa. I've read it. It's all a bit daunting. Need to digest it all.

You're welcome - as I said in that thread, PLEASE don't let it overwhelm you. We don't expect perfection. I work very closely with our CAs and we'll fix any issues that come up.

I agree with Laurie. My 3D vendor history dates back to the beginning of our world... I started with Zygote, was one of DAZ's first PAs, had a few things at Renderosity and Cornucopia. While primarily being Poser-based, I was one of the first content providers to start supporting DAZ Studio as well.

I left DAZ, after being there 11 years, because I felt I was losing my artistic freedom (being told by Marketing Directors what I'd be allowed to create) and out of loyalty. Chris Creek and Dan Farr gave me my start in 3D, so when they were pushed out of their own company by the investors, I felt DAZ wasn't the same anymore. Chris, in many ways, was the old DAZ's heart (bringing caring, understanding and fairness to the company), so went he formed Hivewire3D in 2013, I immediately signed up as their first CA.

For the first time ever I got to actually submit my own advertising without a marketing staff, who doesn't understand my products or customers, destroying it. The atmosphere here is so much friendlier and relaxed, too. I won't pretend those early days at Hivewire3D were all rosy. With any new business, it takes a while to get your footing, figure out exactly what you are doing and iron-out any wrinkles.... but three years later, Hivewire3D has matured and found a loyal customer base.

So again, welcome to all the New-Bees, and those returning and giving us a second look. I hope you'll make Hivewire3D your new home.

Dang! You're a stud Ken, and a trooper for weathering rocking waves with us!! We're sooo very fortunate to have you with us! Wow, just WOW!!

Woah...what a lot of posts! Hard to keep up...

First welcome to all the newbies and those who have recently rejoined...

Great job Earl! It's making me hungry...
Hey Thanks Pen. Kind of a toss up for me as to release them as freebies, or hold them for a food pack to sell. Hey Poser people have to eat too!

All I can say is I am crazy busy working on Superfly and iRay MATs for ALL of my products:) I do hope those who make Poser only and HW related products for either/or Poser and DS feel welcome to move here as both members and vendors.

Welcome to all the new folks making their voices heard here! This is the most honest and respectful forum I have ever been a part of in my 12 years in the 3d world.

Laurie

You're very kind. Another Gem of a person and artist. Holy Crap... she's good!!!!!

This thread grows faster than I can read it, well almost.

Welcome to all those that have come here for the first time or have returned, it is great to see so many and I hope, like me, you find this is a place you can call home, at artist wise.

It is also good to see that there has been none of the us/them argument that is running elsewhere, not that I am surprised as a Poser user one of the first thing I noticed here was how friendly and helpful everyone was, it was almost a shock when I found out so many were using DS. It has been really interesting to see what DS users have been doing with DS and the Hivewire family.

Glad to hear from Netherworks too, great that you are so busy but I really do hope not too busy to make sure your scripts stay available. I have so many of them and they make a vast difference to the usability of Poser, many I would be lost without. I really do hope that you bring them the Hivewire, but if this is not possible I would be happy if they are available anywhere, they are just too good to be lost to the POser community.

OK!! thats it!! where's my welcome back!?!? :p (I was here quite a lot in the early days, even helped to beta test dawn, but life took me away from actively participating in the 3d community.

It is cool to see so many people popping in here and things staying positive despite the topic at hand. That has always been one of the charms of this place. A few of the old Poser place crew is always uplifting for me as well.

WELCOME BACK!!!

Seriously, thank you, thank you, for all you've done to help us get Dawn off the ground, and for your early involvement and support. We hope you can hang around more this go round.
