This is why I stuck with Blender for so many years. I really disliked the old 2.4x version I started with, but they finally upgraded to a more professional UI with version 2.5x. As most folks who haven't played with it much, I found it daunting, but I couldn't afford anything like Maya or ZBrush, so I stuck with it until I got comfortable with it.
Then about 3 years ago they totally redid the UI again. At first I just ignored it, but I finally installed a newer version, and again I'm relearning the UI and where everything is. I knew if I ever wanted to be able to model anything, I would have to do it in Blender, as it's the only powerful modeling app I can afford, as it's free. Luckily you don't have to "install" blender so you can run more than one version on your computer without worrying about conflicts.
Oh, and I found a site that has lots of Blender courses, and when they have a sale, I grab a few, as they have lifetime access, so worth it.
