As some of you may know, me and my wife have bought ourselves a caravan. It's situated on a recreational park. Here in the Netherlands you are not allowed to permanently live in a caravan on a recreational park but this is our project for our retirement - 18 years from now but who's counting.
Anyhew, this is where I share photo's of our progress. I hope you all enjoy it!

This is a bit what the spot itself looks like, we have a big garden behind the caravan.

That looks very nice Pom. Thanks for sharing photos with us. You'll have to keep us up-to-date with renovations as you make them. :)

As my wife is concentrating on the building I am more the gardening "specialist" *cough*
So I've started with the garden. My dad, my grandfather and my uncles - welll, basically everyone in my family on my father's side were having a vegetable garden so I kinda grew up on that and as a teen I said I would never-ever-never have a garden of my own. Not floral, not vegetable, not anything. I would only want a patio with pots and plants and that would be it.
Well, I saw that garden and at first I had that patio/pots & plants thing in mind but then I saw all those big stones and how poorly everything looked......my hands started itching.....
I started with the first plants border,.....empty it out

.....like my dad would with just a spade......

I decided to move the rhododendron in the patch for the time being.....

.......so I could create a good size border with all those stones. And mind you, this is just half way finished. The chair is an old wooden chair wich I will give to some Hedera's. I will sandpaper it, soak it and plant some Hedera's and species of moss there. Don't know I'll shape it but it will probably be with the help of some old branches left by the oak-tree in the centre.

It is forest soil and the previous owners didn't really tend to it I think so after this I will be digging the earth up - I won't remove it because of all the critters & crawlers in there but I will mix it with composted garden soil and some soil specially for potted plants, that has some extra compost in there for the places where some of the plants will be.
It's mainly going to be a rock garden wich is new to me but not all of it.
I've noticed in the environment that crawlers (ground covering plants), moss and ferns do well there. But there are plenty crawlers that carry bloom and we have alot of plants that like half-shade so I'm busy for a while here since this is just one patch......pffff

For the coming new year and spring, if you want any descent tulips, daffodils, garden hyancinth, anemone or any other bulb-plant - you need to put them in the ground before winter comes. October is the time for that. And for our first patch I bought a few sets.....

Plenty of shades available so I choose a multicolor bag of 100 bulbs, some blue and white color mix of 35 bulbs each and 5 bulbs of hyancinths.
This is what I'll be doing next coming weekend LOL

Yesterday we bought some extra flexfloors for the extension of our bedroom. We're planning on adding a bit more room to the caravan so we need some extra for the floor.
My job is the garden but it's winter now so I keep myself busy with nosing aroung for the interior bits and decorative stuff, motto "It just has to look expensive" LOL
I shop around in thrift stores and flee-markets and look what I found for a tenner

I'm thrilled to bits, € 10,= for the lot!

I gave myself the day of today - after a heated discussion with myself since I do have some poses to finish LOL
It was the first real nice - dry - day with a nice temperature and some sun, ideal for gardening, well mostly getting dead leaves out.
And look what popped up from underneath?! The bulbs are coming out!

A very brave crocus

Well, we had a couple of inches of snow early this morning, but the sun came out early afternoon, and by the time I went out to run errands, 90% of the snow was already gone, so not too bad after all.

It snowed here ALL day, sometimes really, really heavy. Had a brief bit of sun, and then a final blast of snow came through during the evening commute. At least, I hope it was a final blast. I looked out the window about 5ish, and couldn't see a thing. Sooo glad Thursdays and Fridays are my telecommute days!!!

Pom, I'm so envious! I used to have things like crocuses and daffodils and snowdrops. Though, they do plant them on the grounds around the apartment building. So, I'll have to keep an eye out Monday.
