Ohhhhh, OK. :)

Wow, 10.5 inches? I'm having a hard time visualizing a moth with a wingspan that's almost a foot long. :wow:
these are just awesome I'll be picking them up once I get through Christmas!

Stunning renders as usual Flint!

Well, I completed my first of two 'add-on" volumes for my moths. Here's a render with all of the moths included with proper sizing... the largest (Hercules Moth) has a wingspan of 270 mm (10.6 inches). The second volume which I'll start tomorrow has request user requests plus more "wow" moths; it will include the Atlas Moth, Hummingbird Hawkmoth, Decorated Beauty (aka Mexican Moth), Suraka Silk Moth, Chinese Moon Moth, Puriri Moth, Crimson Speckled Flunkey and Hearsey’s Moth.

They are indeed lovely Ken. I especially like that Spanish Moon Moth.

Yes, it does eat Oleander... the caterpillars are immune to the plant's highly toxic properties. I'd imagine the caterpillars would then also be toxic to eat, but most creatures stay clear of many of the caterpillars which are amongst the world's most toxic and painful-to-interact-with insects (just looking at some of the caterpillars in this link scream "do not touch" lol).

Very happy to see none of those little, cute nasties live in NZ...yet another reason to reside here :snoopydance:

Thanks Chris... apart from some promises I made to do a couple "request" moths, here's clearly a reason for me continuing with a second volume. I had to double-check the "Decorated Beauty (moth)" to make sure it simply wasn't a photoshopped creature. While there isn't too much research on the moth, but it does actually exist (Anaxita decorate) and I venture to guess it served, at least as an inspiration, to pre-Columbian artists, since it mirrors the style of Mayan and Aztec art.

Amazing work! Those patterns would look good on fairy wings especially if the fairy wings were those shapes.

That would be extremely cool. The hivewire family don't have enough wings...the only ones I've found have been the ones by Mada for Dawn.
