Looking good Cath. I'm liking the facial hair. Did you create his head hair in that screenshot as well?

Thank you Miss B, yes just temporary for visualization , Buddy shape have a great distance between the noise and lips for a good facial hair look, I will make Unshaven for Du2.0 and also in same style scalp Hair with many styles to set just by sliding the slider, it will be fiber based so it works across all platforms .

I find the fiber hair seems very coarse. At least in the images I've seen so far.

Dana
That is just for visualization Dana , I saving on my RAM, I will make the proper diameter when it is ready for the product
you can set the diameter as you like depends of the distance you render .
Plus I am in Zbrush , I need to make quick renders preview while working , just to give you an idea.
All hairs are fibers once exported from Zbrush or DS or Maya. You know that you can import Zbrush hair and convert it to DS hair ? everything is possible .
The scalp hair below is 1 million poly , 50K of strains

Oh, I wasn't talking about your previews here. I've seen fiber mesh hairs a lot in promos on Renderosity, DAZ3D...it always seems coarse. I think it wouldn't look good for most. Yes, some people have coarse hair, but some, like me, have very fine hair. And I'd be afraid of fiber hair that fine on my computer. The computer would probably tell me where to go, and shut down. :D

Fiber hair render much faster than strands hair, especially with iray or Cycles . The file size is also small once exported, you gonna be fine.
Setting the right diameter is not easy, I always use the facial stubs from the textures to choose the right diameter. The settings of the materials is also important as it gives the course or soft look too. I have very fine scalp hair and a lot, my husband's hair are very coarse but on the lower density. The most coarse hair are East Asian hair, 10 layers of cuticles and very round where caucasian have around 5 layers and are more oval in shape, African hair are more flat oval in shape . All the types of hair reflecting the light differently . Asian hair have the most beautiful shine due to its round shape like a cylinder.

Wow! You know a lot about hair! o_O

My computer is fairly old, most of it. Intel Core2 Duo, each core running at 3.0 GHz, with only 8GB of RAM. NVidia GForce 9500 GT, I think it has 2G of RAM on it. Not many cores...32. :( 16 texture units and 8 ROPs (whatever those are).

I learn stuff when doing work for my clients, I need to research .

Yeah , I believe I have it 13-14 years ago. Still I was doing great stuff on it ! 8GB of Ram is OK, graphic card not so much.
So your PC is still worthy around $250 at this moment for parts.. ;)

Shape got polish , legs are done, now just the arms , hands and feet and small adjustments
low poly preview , not subdivided so that would be the look of the base shape without subdivisions or displacement ( of course there would be one for the fine details)

Yesterday night I was doing some body study to see how far I can go on low poly with Dusk2, not that it is my priority at this moment , but maybe in the future, some kind of character, like "The Emperor's New Clothes" ;)

Niiiiice! I think the eyebrows are a little bit too bushy, but I'm liking that hair a lot. Did you create it, or is it something in one of the stores?

P.S forgot to add the bald version
It might just be my eyesight, or the lighting which is throwing shadows over the eyes, but his eyes aren't looking straight out. They both appear to be a little too close to the inner corners.

Thank you, the eyebrows was from the other character , I did not made yet the official hair, this is only for visualization, I changed the style from Shakir just a concept art .. and yes I made it all myself as always . :)

That is the problem , Dawn and Dusk have the irises slightly too narrow, I will correct it once I start rigging the shapes and put them apart a little bit, for all of my shapes. I did not touched the eyeballs , they are in the original position .

Ahhh OK. I usually wind up repositioning the eyes for my closer renders, and not just for Dawn and Dusk, so not a big deal for me. Just thought I'd mention it, in case you hadn't notice.
