I Just Wanted to Post an Image Thread

Added IronMan, but some of the sculpted details render as dents in Poser for lack of micro-poly displacement. Geez, hard surfaces are a :alien: to model. The texture painting is meh - maybe I will have steady hands in the next life. :p

Rendered in Poser with Superfly + HDRI.

It was made using my 3D-AI-2D workflow with the OpenPose Poser plugin, where DawnSE has provided the general pose and camera framing. Even though I used a stylized cartoon style, we can clearly see she matches DawnSE default body shape and proportions. For all figures I tried, DawnSE was the one that works best with this workflow.
One of these days, if you are willing, and time permitting, I would like to have a detailed discussion on this process? I really would like to make my various projects more animation like. Right now though my mind is overloaded dealing with other pressing issues,

Sure thing. Have been doing 3D-AI-2D for almost 3 years now (since 2022). :)

More vertex pushing in Blender. It's the ultimate hell to UV map in Blender, so I just did in 3DSMAX instead. Done everything else in Blender, though. I did single crossed straps before, so now it's time for DOUBLE crossed straps. Once properly UV mapped, I painted it in Blender. Painting double-sided straps is particularly challenging. Testing on DawnSE in Poser but can refit to any figure. It's not rigged yet, just a prototype at this point.

After making IronMan with all the hard surfaces, I wanted to make a helmet in Blender using the same technique. This is what came out, with 25K polys, all quads. Could made it lower poly, but then Poser/DS start "melting" the hard edges. I always had trouble with hard surface modeling, so IronMan and this helmet was good practice.

Rendered in Poser with Superfly + HDRI. I keep using the DS4 default HDRI map, so renders look the same in both programs. ^^

I have been working on this one a while. Mix of 3D rendering and digital painting - composited in layers - experimenting with new methods.

I have a sincere question regarding my images. Do you(any forum goers) feel that my renders look better with the black frames, or without (full bleed to the edges)?
I forgot to give that last image that matted look, and I am trying to decide if I want to redo it.

And now for something completely different, more vertex pushing in Blender. All quads props. Rendered in Poser with Superfly + HDRI. UV mapping still sucks in Blender with the default tools (it's really bad!!), but the texture painting is pretty good. Have to find a UV mapping plugin to help with that. Last character I finished tonight was the chibi girl with pink hair on the left. Used body proportions recommended from a book from mangaka Hikaru Hayashi for max cuteness. ^___^

I would never start a Funko Pops collection... but I could consider yours. Soooo much better :)
