Thank you, Pen! I was always avoiding sneakers because they are HARD to model, but nothing like facing your fears to overcome them, like I previously did with modeling heads, characters, facial expressions, body morphs and Python scripts. After this much practice, I am not afraid of sneakers anymore. ^____^
Thanks, Pen! Just finished a new pair of western ankle booties for a private commission job. Such a classic, elegant design. ^^

Well, I've been keeping myself occupied with another long-range publication project. It's a personal reader's copy, so will never be posted. It's been 2-3 years since the last time anyone gave me permission to do a publication project for posting. But with Ais stealing people's work, I can't blame people for wanting full control of where their stuff is posted. .pdf isn't the easiest format to steal content from, but I cannot claim that it isn't possible.
So. Okay. Yes, it's another Potterfic, and it's a longfic.And I'm not altogether certain that I'll be able to upload anything, since I am *not* able to upload images over on the DAZ forums at all, even though they are less than 800pxls, 1MB, and plain vanilla .jpg.
In any case, the fic is 'The Evans Boy' which is pretty much a trilogy, with the last volume currently a WiP. It's a variant on the 'Wrong Boy Who Lived' trope, which usually is done up as "Harry Potter has a twin" and everyone thinks the twin is the Boy Who Lived.
Not this time. The kid who is the Boy Who Lived is Fleamont (Monty) Potter, and Harry Evans is his unknown illegitimate older brother.
Harry Evans knows this since his grandmother Evans told him the truth, and he takes it upon himself to protect his younger brother.
Protecting the Boy Who Lived is not an easy job. And by the end of the first volume it's clear that it comes with a heavy cost.

So. Harry Evans knows that his father was a wizard, but Rose Evans never told him who his father was. She also died when he was some years too young for Hogwarts, leaving him in a Secret-Kept house in Cokeworth with nothing but magic to support him. He managed. After a fashion.
He gets to Hogwarts and sorts into Slytherin. The following summer Professor Snape, who also lives in Cokeworth, catches him stealing food from a market and gives him a chance to earn pocket money helping him in his lab. (He also feeds him.)
Back at school, Harry starts researching in the Hogwarts Library trying to find who his father was. His only clue is that he looks a lot like a former gobstones champion, one Eileen Prince.
It takes a while to find documentary evidence to suggest the probable solution. But he does find it.
Took a while to find the button to insert the full image. Can't seem to delete and replace the earlier one though.

Monty Potter comes to Hogwarts in Harry's 3rd year. Harry does what he can to protect his brother. He manages to keep Monty safe, but it turns out he does it by getting in the way of those who intend to either attack or "test" Monty. It's attention he could have done without.
At the start of Monty's 2nd year, Harry is at Kings Cross keeping an eye on things and manages to keep Monty and Ron from making a particularly bad decision. Hedwig is sent to Hogwarts with a message about the blocked barrier. Another note is left with the Ford Anglia telling the Weasleys what has occurred, and Harry bundles the kids onto the Knight Bus. Which gets to Hogsmeade before the train does.

It's the Year of the Basilisk, so there are petrifications. And Harry is the one to figure it out this time. He has a couple of advantages for that. Unfortunately once again the person to figure it out is the next to be petrified. Fortunately he managed to leave a message which his friends were able to interpret.
Having had the solution handed to them, the Hogwarts staff engages to deal with the Basilisk.
Most notably Professor Charity Burbage who somehow appears to have possession of a goblin-crafted axe.
