You can find HiveWire 3D and Lisa's Botanicals products, as well as many of our Contributing Artists, at Renderosity. This thread lists where many are now selling their products. Renderosity is generously putting products which were purchased at HiveWire 3D and are now sold at their store into customer accounts by gifting them. This is not an overnight process so please be patient, if you have already emailed them about this. If you have NOT emailed them, please see the 2nd post in this thread for instructions on what you need to do

I am SO glad you're back!

Shoot! This is harder than I thought. Trying to imitate wool is hard. I may have to upload the pants and shirt and add the boots later on. I am started a thread at RDNA looking for some assistance. Now I have my fingers, toes, eyes and all my T's crossed....

Careful! The wind might change ;)

But that's a nuisance for you. Um, use a wool texture and bump it hard?

I tried that. It doesn't look real. BB hangs out there and the node cult forum is his castle. I am sure he can get it done. I will still upload the pants and shirt a bit later today.

I was just going to suggest FF myself Terre. I'm working on a texture set for an outfit, and the texture is "knitted", and I was able to make a bump map as well.

Hmm, don't know. I think there's a stand alone. I don't have it myself but I read a lot of posts from peeps who do. And somehow it enables you to create seamless tiles as well as filters. Miss B may be able to extrapolate.

It's ok. I will figure out a way to do it. I am working on packaging up the rest of it now. I decided to wait until I have to boots done so it will be an all-in-one package.

Filter Forge does have a standalone version, but I can't say I've used it, other than to check for new filters on their site. I mostly use the filter version within Photshop.

I can tell you Rokket, that it's an .8bf type filter, so it may very well work in Gimp, though I didn't have it back when I had Gimp on my old laptop, so don't know for sure.

It happens to be on sale for one more day, so you may want to check it out -->
Filter Forge - Photoshop Plugin to Create Your Own Filters

I'm currently considering upgrading to version 5.0 Pro. I've been using it off and on since version 1. Just not sure I use it often enough to keep upgrading it, and certainly don't use it often enough to buy a Lifetime license so it wouldn't cost me to upgrade every year.

I looked at that page. I don't think I would use it enough to pay for it. But thanks for the link.

Oh OK. There is a fully functional 30-trial you can always download and see. Then if you like it, the next time they have a sale, you can buy it.

I am still pondering that one. I might do it. Since I seem to have gotten myself into becoming a vendor on here, I might as well see if I can use it. I figure I would be using it a lot if I am creating textures for my stuff, and there are always legal issues to contend with utilizing stuff from the internet.

Just remember, there's well over 11,000 filters you can download, use and/or modify for your needs. ;)
