Getting used to new habits for Coronavirus....

I wish they understood that in every country. Unfortunately, that is not the case in the US.

I so hope that come January 2021, we can get back to some sense of sanity here. Not that I will hold my breath.

I think you would turn all sorts of pretty blues and purples!

I know, I see so many folks, walking, riding bicycles, driving cars with their windows wide open, and not a face mask, or scarf, in sight. ~shakes head~

To be fair, the masks are only needed when you can't safely distance. In your car, you don't need to wear one. Even on a bicycle it's not really needed. Unless you're coughing and/or sneezing a lot while passing close to people. And in that case, I think riding would not be a good idea, anyway.

True, but I also consider someone else you're passing having Covid-19. I know the masks are supposed to prevent "you" from infecting others, but I still think they help me to not come in contact with anyone who's infected, and who could possibly pass it to me. I know that's not what the medical professionals are saying, but I like to be cautious and careful for all eventualities.

The US is not alone, here in the UK there has been the odd instances of meetings approaching 100 or more and some have flocked to beauty spots and other such locations in their thousands making social distancing impossible. As from June 1st the rules will change so we will be able to meet up to six people who live in other locations as long as it is outside and social distancing is observed. I suspect many will abide by that rule although I also suspect some will not wait until 1st June as good weather is forecast for the weekend. At least the restrictions are being lifted at the same time they try and deploy as test and trace procedure to try and contain the virus to some degree.

What I do find so baffling is the mass gatherings in so many countries demanding their right to do as they please as if the virus makes any sort of allowance for people's rights, or anything else for that matter.

I think the car is a grey area while clearly it would not be essential for a trip out, in the longer term it could be an issue depending on how the car is used. If there is more than one person in the car, quite within the rules here in the UK as long as they come from the same household, then the mask might be a good idea and if anyone has the virus inside the car becomes an issue. It is suggested that the virus can live on some surfaces for up to 72 hours so if the car was used within that period by some one else it could be and issue. Using gloves and a mask would possible limit the risk in such a scenario.

My cell phone went off last night with what I thought was an Amber Alert. To my shock, it was a curfew announcement! The citywide curfew began 8 PM. Saturday and was in effect until 6 AM Sunday. The curfew tonight is from 6 PM Sunday until 6 AM Monday People may leave their homes only to go to work at essential businesses or to seek medical attention or police assistance. The curfew is being enforced by police.

This has nothing at all to do with COVID-19. It's because of the violence and looting which has followed the peaceful protests over the killing by police of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week.

Just as in many other cities, thousands of people gathered in Philadelphia to peacefully protest. Then, just as in other cities, others showed up and began setting cars and businesses on fire, smashing windows, looting, and attacking police officers. According to Federal law enforcement officials, domestic extremist groups, including white supremacists, anarchists, and far-left extremists, are causing some of the violence.

Currently, all Center City streets, the Ben Franklin bridge, and some highway off-ramps are closed. SEPTA announced all service (bus and subway) is suspended within the closed area until further notice due to civil unrest and vandalism.

All businesses in Center City were ordered to close at 3 PM today. All business owners, as well as anyone else, helping to secure businesses or clean up vandalized properties must return home by 5 PM.

Support from the National Guard has been requested.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw, who was hired three months ago said during a press conference:

“I’ve been a Black woman my entire life. I have Black sons. I enforce the law, but there is a very clear narrative here.” That narrative, Outlaw said, stemmed from “a lot of hurt and anger.”
The police commissioner, responding to a question about whether a large percentage of arrests were tied to white people, described the destruction as in “misalignment” with the message carried out by Saturday’s peaceful protesters.
“Frankly, those folks didn’t look like me,” Outlaw said, adding that the destruction was a “slap in the face” and a “setback for everything that’s been accomplished for those working to fix the issues within the criminal justice system.”

It has been so peaceful here all weekend. It's unbelievable that less than 7 miles away, it's been far from peaceful.

Not the sort of post I can 'like' and feel easy about doing so. So much about this is wrong, not only the death and the destruction but the risk that all the protesters are putting themselves in, Covid has no regard to a cause, justified or not.

Stay safe and stay well and lets hope the violence at least comes to an end.

Looting has continued all day Sunday and spread to areas outside Center City. Some of these areas are low income, but other area are middle-class. The news choppers have been showing video of the looting as they hovered over various stores being looted.

I just cannot comprehend how people justify breaking into a store, or entering a store through a broken glass door, and then stealing. One video was a Target about two miles from me being looted today. People drove up in cars, parked outside the store in the loading zone, ran inside through the broken door, then ran back out with piles of stolen clothing or boxes. One young woman with pink hair/wig wearing hot pink short shorts and a black tank top strolled up to the door, and picked up a few items others had dropped. Then she strolled away. A few minutes later, she returned and continued "shopping."

Interestingly, most were wearing masks or face coverings ...

The tragedy is that some of the small stores are own by people not that dissimilar to the ones who are looting it, that is not to condone the looting of larger stores who give employment to many in the same community. Who wins when a store or gas station is burned down, there is no logic to this.

That is very interesting. Perhaps with this knowledge, a better route to a vaccine can be found. And a treatment.

I should add while it seems like an interesting "theory", like most things on the internet, you should weight it accordingly...

You can find it easily enough by just typing keywords in a Google search. covid-19 blood vessel. but...here: Possible blood vessel disease

Thanks for the link, I could not get the other one to work. Being on the Internet does mean it needs to be read with a certain amount of caution but it does tend to make a lot of sense and is far more believable than the virus being caused by 5G towers, at least for me. Part of me wants to believe it as it would be good news for me in that, being diabetic, I am already on both medications mentioned in the report.
