Wow, Earl! This is great! You're making such fast progress, too!

The wood isn't too dark for me ... personal preference but also depends on the colors of everything else.

Looking forward to seeing more!

Enjoy creating!

I'm thinking about turning one of the bed rooms into a play room with a pool table.:sneaky:

But right now, i'm still working on the cooktop stove for the kitchen.

Dawn's inspecting my construction work and she's not happy. One of the worker's apparently reversed the normals on the cabinet doors. :whistling:

Another good reason to use Poser to periodically check out the mesh. There's a way to check it in Blender too, but I'm not that familiar with it.

LOL Oh, what a pose! Love the expression.

I noticed that Poser seems to invert normals on some Blender objects, while DS doesn't seem to. I have at least one object that I couldn't get working properly in Poser, also made in Blender. I ended up releasing it in DS format, and OBJ with a plain disclaimer to Poser users about the quirks.

I like the darker wood colors on the cabinets here. But like it was mentioned above, cabinet color preferences also depend for me, on the colors of the surrounding room as well. But so far I like these. And I very much like those marble counter tops, too.

So I'm still working on the oven. I'm on the doors now, so I'm close. But I made a strategic mistake. I wanted to see if I could really push Poser to see how the kitchen rendered. That pretty much slowed me down to a crawl. Thing is, it actually took longer for the indirect light setting to render than the final render. I'm going to reset some of the settings and let it go overnight while I'm sleeping, though.
Anyway, back to modeling, and here's what the three hour render looks like with Dawn in her new kitchen.

I don't think I could wait 3 hours for a render to finish. I was pulling my hair out the one time I rendered something with a lot of marble surfaces with Ambient Occlusion, which took an hour. I'll never do that again. Rendering with AO will have to wait for the "special" render I need. For most of the renders I do, it's not necessary with those kinds of materials.

That would be a no for me too, Miss B. Three hours of the gennie running, hell no! Looks nice but.

Personally, I don't like the way the doors look. I turned on smoothing in render and I think that had something to do with it.

Most of them don't look bad, but the one at the top left looks like it's not sitting well, as though it's partially open, because I can see a thin section of black across the middle of the top of the door.

Then again, that may very well be a lighting issue.
