I Just Wanted to Post an Image Thread

I love how Tinkerbell is kicking back enjoying a morning cup of coffee after a hard night of Fairying. The entire expanse is impressive. While closeup stuff is nice for vignettes, there is a reason why Terradome and the like are very popular. People like me want the entire landscape to Tinker with. An Elven Kingdom does just that. From the Waterfalls to the Watch towers there is so much to see.

Where is her machine gun?

No, that's the same thing I saw in Mininessie's signature here on the forum, so she removed the link to whatever it was.

I saw your shader in the other thread and I replied there. Your work here is amazing as always. I hope you solve your problem with the server blades.

Photobucket...NO joy...and I belong to photobucket.

Youtube. YES! Though the sound scared the hell out of kitten who was watching a japanese drama called Blanket Cats.
I remember asking her (Kitten) if she wanted to fire a weapon. They have ladies night at the gun range and girls fire free.

The kindest, sweetest girl, I've ever met, gave me a look like I was a target and said, "You know...I always wanted to pull the trigger."

It's the nice ones that are truly scary.

Let's get that fairy a machine gun.

3hr render in DS4.9 pro, her attire consists of multiple sets (retextured to match) and her weapon can't be found on the market, it was a gift from a friend (many thanks Fredels).

To get the outer terrain/treeline lighting to match with any rotated position of the sky, I need to produce Vue renders with neutral (nondirectional) lighting. So, sun straight overhead.

I got the servers fired up this morning, and everything is online on the Pixie Hollow network. :whistling: The cabling would frighten the Borg, but it all works. :alien:
Workstation Cameron has the Vue scene and is controlling the render, but my Vue license limits me to fifteen rendercows, so Cameron isn't rendering, just controlling.

It's a lot of polygons, at high quality settings, and fairly large pixel dimensions, but I have 360 cores cooperating on these renders (the outer terrain/treeline is done in 4096-pixel quadrants). :)

I can't afford a renderfarm, so my work is all done on a single desktop (self-built).
If you built your own desktop, then you could adapt enterprise-grade refurbs. See this thread, starting near the bottom of page 2. It might suit your situation (or, not).

Most of his render farm are older machines that he's salvaged and rebuilt.
Yep, the "poor boy" method. Rendering horsepower on the cheap. ;)

The idea is that I'm leveraging my blades' render power to do the heavy lifting of making the tree-covered terrain backdrop and the complex atmospheres for the skydome, but anybody can use the resulting texturing images and so get the benefit of a rack of blades.:)

@raven Yes. The rear view mirror gives the context that she is in a car. And the viewer's eye does not immediately notice Creepy. But then you *do* notice him.

This is one quadrant of the Lothlorien backdrop. Each quadrant has a corresponding alpha map and Z-depth map (for controlling eefects such as haze increasing with distance).

The actual texturing images are 8192x1600. Here is a snip:

Don't worry about the quirky cliff face; the "cliff" edge of the backdrop matches up to the outer edge of the 3D Lothlorien terrain, so you won't see the "cliff" face in the Poser enviro playset.

I know, but I can't decide which is impressing me more, the great work Seach is doing on this project, or his render farm setup. I am sooooo jealous.
