Happy Thanksgiving! (To those of us in the US anyway. I think Canada already had theirs.)
We have a new professionally installed pro-grade thermostat on our heater. Now we'll just need to replace the batteries every 2 or 3 years instead of the thermostat every year or two. Consumer grade ones are crap that aren't worth the money anymore.

Cranberry Sauce both jellied and berry (Her)
Roles with Honey and Butter (Not Margarine) (Me)
Pumpkin Pie with Vanilla Ice (Me with help from my friend Sara Lee)
Egg Nog (Store)
I didn't include Coffee but it's implied as the lifeblood of many an American.
I do have to perform Black Friday duties of Bodyguard and Chaffeur but I was assured it will not involve broken bones.

Ain't no turkey day here in the Philippines. They don't even have turkeys. The closest we will get is rotisserie chicken. But it is my birthday Sunday, which we will celebrate on Saturday, so we decided to forgo trying to do the Thanksgiving feast and just do it on my birthday. Besides, my Filipino family doesn't understand the holiday anyhow.

Thanks for the wishes everyone. As far as grand kids, who knows? My oldest gave me 3 of them, all boys, but I haven 't seen them in at least 4 years...
My middle child is more interested in a career than children ( I know, right?) and she is 15...
My youngest is only 9...

The birthday celebration was a success... now it's the obligatory cleanup. There were a lot of people I hadn't seen in several years at the house last night. Seems my birthday is a big deal to them too. It's only the second time I have been able to be to be home for my birthday in more than 10 years.

That's special rokket. In my family, I am the only one named by my father. Not even my big brother who is named for him was named by him. The reason being is that he was there for my birth. Likewise, people showed up to celebrate your birth. It is clear to me from what you have reported that you are loved. I think it fits the title of this thread.
