I've installed it in program folder since Poser 8, and I've never had any problems. I skipped Vista. I stayed with XP until Win7 came out. I also stayed away from Windows 8 because I didn't like the interface. I had Windows 10 but took it off because of the auto update thing.

That's the beauty of the internet and a forum that you type messages in. We will never know if that last note was on key or not!!!!:D

I can promise you it wasn't ;) Any time I sing around my pals I'm told, in no uncertain terms, not to give up my day job!

I didn't even know I could sing. I never had the nerve to do it in public. That's the magic of karaoke. They have it in bars. So you get liquored up and the next thing you know, you're Elvis Presley. Or at least you think you are.

Since UAC hasn't caused me problems with Windows 7, I prefer to install Poser (as well as all other applications) in Program Files with the runtime in My Documents. Of course, scripts still go in the Runtime that is also created in the Poser application folder.

I understand UAC with Vista was a real pain, but Microsoft made it easy to customize or even disable UAC in Windows 7 (Control Panel / User Accounts / Change User Account Control Settings). With Windows 7, the default is to notify me when programs try to make changes to my computer and don't notify me when I make changes to windows settings. That works for me, so I've not bothered to disable UAC. I want to know when changes are attempting to be made to my computer.

You can set UAC to be more strict so that you are always notified when programs try to install software or make changes to your computer or you make changes to windows setting or disable notifications altogether.

With Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012 (as well as Poser 10 and Poser Pro 2014), the default for the content runtime was the shared documents folder, but you also had the choice of installing the content runtime in My Documents, Poser application folder, or another location. Since I don't share my computer with anyone, I use My Documents.

I think installing is the same with Poser Pro 11, but I couldn't find a how to install Poser Pro 11 in Smith Micro's Poser Knowledge Base.

As you're then installing the Poser content, you specify whether to install the poser content where you specified the content runtime to be or another location.

Ok then. It's time for chai. My blood (and skin ... even under layers) still isn't used to the cooler weather!

Tsuki needs that!!!

I pulled her tag off her Beastie Band collar today and she seems to be accepting it. I ordered a tag that slides over the collar so there isn't any dangling bits. Getting the tag off her collar was fun. She kept trying to grab the tag and pull her collar out of my hands.

I also discovered the other day that if I make a huh, huh, huh sound (kinda like panting), that she comes running over and goes after my hand/arm. Weird. Just weird.

But, now I know how to get her attention when she's in the bathroom trying to open the cupboard door or in the hallway trying to open the bifold doors. I use bi-fold door locks (which slide over the top to prevent the doors from being opened ... and positioning them over the top of the door was tricky given how short I am!). Currently, I have one of those on the bathroom cupboard door which works even though it's almost too thick to work.

But now I need to get something for the kitchen cupboard doors! She managed to open the door for the cabinet under the sink and crawled over all the stuff there and behind the pipes. Since there are cleaners under there, I'd rather she didn't play in there.

I came home one day to discover the freezer door ajar. Apparently, she'd managed to open it from the top of the refrigerator. Since I had a magnet strip on the refrigerator left over from something that it was attached to, I now have that positioned so part of it is on the side of the refrigerator and the other part is on the side of the door. It's just enough that I haven't found the freezer door open again. I'd originally had it on the top, but forgot it was there and couldn't figure out why it was so difficult to open the door! So ... since it almost works to keep me out of the freezer, it should work to keep her out :p

I sang in my high school's Mixed Chorus all 4 years, but the one time I tried karaoke . . . that was a disaster. I can't sing without, at the very least, piano accompaniment, or others singing with me. Listening to a recording doesn't help me stay on key. A capella is definitely NOT my forte, to say the least.

I was going to post some of my recordings, but at this point it would be like trying to brag. I guess I always had it in me, but doing karaoke has actually improved my voice and technique over the last few years. Even my wife says I sound so much better now than I did even a year ago. I think most of it is confidence, a long with picking up hints and tips from professionals here and there.
I had a professional singer hear me sing and told me that I was using my head voice. I said ok, but had no idea what she was talking about. I found out later it's the voice you use to enable yourself to extend to your highest range without singing falsetto. I was doing it naturally.

That long awaited skirt is just hours away from being available. Remember, though, it's dynamic. It will be predraped and have the constrained grouping already in it, so all you have to do is load and go. I am putting a suede texture on it, but you can do whatever you like with it when it's in your runtime.

I guess everyone is off enjoying their Sunday. Not one recorded download. Oh well, I've had stuff on 'rosity sit for days before someone downloaded it.
