You can find HiveWire 3D and Lisa's Botanicals products, as well as many of our Contributing Artists, at Renderosity. This thread lists where many are now selling their products. Renderosity is generously putting products which were purchased at HiveWire 3D and are now sold at their store into customer accounts by gifting them. This is not an overnight process so please be patient, if you have already emailed them about this. If you have NOT emailed them, please see the 2nd post in this thread for instructions on what you need to do

I am SO glad you're back!

Hmmm

I entered snarlygribbly.org in Firefox and got this:

Nothing to see here, move along now ...

????

Something else you can do with second skin maps. This is a bit more complicated because of the use of displacement and bump maps, using specular values on the costume that can't be on the face so it requires maps. The downfall to these types of costumes are the fingernails show on the glove, and below her calf is still a foot. I wish I could figure out how to create a second skin texture that doesn't require a sock morph.

That actually looks nice.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention there's a subdirectory called Snarley's Place, or something like that.

I found the script and downloaded it along with the user manual. I'll play with it later and see what happens. In the meantime, I am also messing with the shader.

Eh, not much. I had a grandiose idea that went south.

Back to the drawing board, er, I mean the Materials room...

I've been spending a LOT of time in the Material Room lately too, so I can empathize. ;)

It's just one of those things. I like the material room. I like the cloth room. I tolerate the hair room. I LOVE the setup room. In Poser 10 it's been streamlined and transferring a donor rig has become really easy. Creating a rig from scratch still eludes me, but that won't be for too much longer.

I will be finishing up the ear pieces and putting them on ShareCG. I did them as a request for a friend, so I am not sure what kind of need anyone else has for them, but I'll link it here, since they are for Dawn. Then I have to dig into my toy chest and find those other projects I was working on and get them posted as well.

Problem solved. I put the ear covers/pieces on ShareCG and linked them here. I now have two whole resources posted.

And at least 2 more before the week is up. And nothing to hinder me. I love being home.

I just saw a post at SM Poser Forum that Snarly has another update for the EZDome, so you might want to grab it.

If you've already installed it, one of the buttons (not sure which one) will run the update for you, so you don't have to download it. If you haven't, then get the new one for installation. It's Build 053.

It's installed but I haven't tried to use it. I'll get around to it later today. I hope I installed it in the right place. I don't mess with Python scripts very much.

I haven't installed it yet either, but I know where I have Snarly's other scripts, so unless there was a specific reason to have this one elsewhere, I would assume it would go in the same folder, namely:

Runtime > Python > poserScripts > ScriptsMenu > SnarlyGribbly

That's where I have his EZSkin 3 script and assets. I don't recall if Snarly actually tells you were to put it, so if you don't have a SnarlyGribbly folder, just make one. Putting it in a folder as I listed above, will make sure it shows up in the Poser Scripts Menu.

OK, if you don't place it in the Scripts Menu folder, it won't show up in the Scripts Menu in Poser. There might be a way to run it from another menu, but I'm not sure how. Having it in the Scripts Menu folder makes it a whole lot easier to find.

Oh, and if Joe/Netherworks brings his Scripts Servant and Scripts Auto Launch goodies here to the store, I have them both, and the Scripts Servant will list all the scripts from the Scripts Menu in a palette you can dock in your Poser workspace so they're nice and handy. The Scripts Auto Launch will automatically launch some scripts every time you open Poser. I use it for a couple/three scripts and that makes things even easier.

Oh, and no, I don't get paid for advertising his scripts, I've just gotten a lot of them over the years from his store at RDNA, and now I don't know how I did without them before. ;)

Uh huh...

Explains that fruit basket that shows up on your door step once a month...:sneaky:

I have used EZ Skin with Poser 8, but since then I haven't really messed with scripts. I will have to see what it can do, after I figure out how to use it.

I have a popup in Poser that is telling me that some scripts are missing. Utilities..?

I have to figure out how to reload that. I may have accidentally removed it somehow, which I don't understand because the scripts folders are in the program files in Windows and you need admin rights to do anything in there. Surely a popup would have stopped me from doing it. Oh well. I'll figure it out.

You have Poser installed in Program Files???????

Ever since Windows Vista they've had the UAC problem, so I always install all my apps, both 2D and 3D, in separate folders at the root C:\ drive. You don't need to have your Runtime there, but yes, the scripts have to be within the main Poser installation.

That said, I suppose you could install Poser into the Program Files folder, as I think the Runtime folder is automatically placed in My Documents. I don't use it there, but a lot of newer software apps do that because of the M$ UAC issue.
