Soo... we've had high 90's lately, and then today it dipped down to the low 80's for the first time in about a week. And a good thing it did, too...
People wonder why professional carpenters are so strong... picture this, if you will...
500lb door, filled with 1,000 lbs worth of lead core in the form of lead bricks.
2 side panels on the door, each weighing another 250 lbs.
The hinges on these doors, are six inch wide, 3 inch thick steel plate, with bolts that are just as heavy duty to secure them.
This is for a room that's used in treating cancer patients; the equipment they use in this room fires off high levels of tightly aimed radiation. The walls themselves have three layers of the same lead bricks to protect everything outside the room from this radiation when the machines are in use.
It only took three carpenters - with NO mechanical equipment - to remove all of the core bricks from inside of the door, remove the two side panels from the door, and then remove the remaining 500 lb door itself. No machinery.
This is what my Bear was doing today at work.
This is why you don't mess with a working carpenter!
