I have been off the grid. I went back to work and we haven't had internet access until now.

In other news, the laptop died. I bought a replacement, but I haven't been able to download my software to it. I bought the download version of Poser 10, and I have to wait until sometime next week to get on WIFI and get everything back up and running.

The good news is, I will be at my house when I do get WIFI.... there is a silver lining in every cloud.

I was able to save my files. They were on an external. But I don't have any of the software I need to do anything with them yet. I will by next week.

That is a very good thing. Losing your files sucks a big kumara, been there, bought the tshirt. I can't use my comp at the mo cos my gennie sucked a kumara. Under warranty but so not all is lost.

YAY, glad you still have all the data. I was very lucky with my last laptop, as I brought it in as soon as I saw a problem booting it up, and all my data on the hard drive was salvageable. I just had them transfer it all to my external, and then recopied it back to my new laptop as needed.

I went to Amazon and bought a copy of Windows 7 Home for that very reason.

Rob remembers, I tried it for a couple weeks. Back then I was promised that I could revert back to Windows 7 if I didn't like it. When I tried I found out that wasn't exactly true. I had to reset back to Factory settings and lost some stuff. Now I keep everything on externals and guard them like Fort Knox.
