I am SO glad you're back!

Have fun with your family Rokket!
I am having a blast. But, I still have to get some of these projects done.

I did a little more work on the skirt. I finally got a shape I am happy with. Now I just have to work on a better texture that doesn't darken it quite so much.

Switching gears. Remember this skirt and top combo I started 2000 years ago? Or last month, whatever...
I am tweaking the UV mapping and then I am going to package it up. I am going to just have procedural materials on it. I will include a template for both so you can do what you want with it.

Grrrrrrrr....

3DS Max's UV mapper doesn't like folds in material. I am going to have to battle with the map. Oh well, who said it was always going to be easy?

Really?
I was thinking it was too short...

I'll shorten it!

Too Short? No way! Skirts should be short so they won't be tripped over during battle.

The project from 2000 years ago. Hmm. This looks like something for that downtime between crisis. As much I like sultry outfits, this one is perfect for the shy and demure. I like that too. Also she'll need flat sandals to complete the look. However, I must still have an untrained eye. I don't see where this particular texture doesn't UV properly. While I don't have a 360 degree of this outfit to check for balance and fits, It looks rather complete to me.

Now where did she get that hair? I like that hair.

I think Dawn's Heroine Hair only comes with Dawn Special Edition. I did a google and site search and it didn't pop up. For those that have it, I could use a link for the hair product only.

How many seams did you cut in the skirt, one back seam or two side seams? I ask because the two side seams might work easier.

There are two side seams. But it's not the seams that are causing the issue, it's the folds in the material. They are overlapping on the map, and I have to go in and manually flatten them.

This is just another case where I can honestly advice people who are learning this craft: UV map your outfit before you take it into Poser/DS and drape it. Now I have added a ton of unwanted albeit necessary work to my already bloated but self inflicted project list.

Oops!

I really like the long skirt and top. Looking forward to its release :)

And I like Supergirl's skirt the original length.

I was hoping to be bragging that it was uploaded today, but I have to fix those maps or any texture you add on and render close up is going to look like a jigsaw puzzle someone put together and got all the pieces in the wrong place.

The funny thing is (and maybe it's not really that funny, but I have to laugh or I'll cry), the problems are only evident on the sides, in the islands surrounding the seam....

That's a pain, Rokket. I know perseverance is a virtue but it gets a bit much after a while, don't it?!

Add to that the fact that I am home and there are CONSTANT interruptions that I really don't mind, it's a pain.

But it's also a learning experience for me. If and when I decide to start selling my creations, my work flow will be as close to perfect as I can get it. So time spent doing it right the first time around will lead to less fixes being sent out.

That's exactly how I've been feeling lately with a project I've started over several times. I'm learning along the way.
