I am SO glad you're back!

While I won't be joining you for the cookies and coffee, I will be in San Diego on the 8th of May. I will be there for a week to attend some training and then I am off the the Pacific Northwest and my brother's house.

I started the skirt remodel, so I should have something to show in awhile.

Thoughts? How does this new skirt look. The textures on the skirt and belt are not final. The belt is a separate item. Everything you see is dynamic.

The only thing I see is some scrunching just under the belt area. Is that because of the Cloth Room settings you used?

It turns out it was the constrained group. It was too large. I narrowed it down and redid the simulations. Now it looks better. I am doing a smaller render that I will post later on when I get on WIFI.

Extraordinary
No real comments as I think she looks great considering that those aren't the final textures. I was thinking she had kinda wide hips but that might be the way it hangs on her. Certainly the leotard without the skirt showed that Supergirl has been watching what she eats. (Why would she eat? She gains her power from the sun. For enjoyment like the rest of us I suppose) However for the uninformed people like me who are used to only using conforming clothing I had to look up the term constrained group and got this from the NERD3D faq.

"Many dynamic cloth items need to have areas constrained before they will stay on the figure. Load your figure and the cloth item. Create a sim and clothify the clothes. In the cloth room click the [Edit Constrained Group]. The constrained group is like glue for Poser. The red dots are where the dress will "stick" to the figure. You can select vertexes in the cloth with the mouse or you can add whole groups at once with the [Add Material] or [Add Group] buttons. Setting up the constrained groups is an art. If you constrain too much the item will look wooden. Too little and it will likely fall off the figure. It requires experimentation and practice to get the constraints right on the first try."

rokket, I did the tutorial you sent me regarding dynamic clothing but I don't remember seeing any red dots. Is it because you already did the proper editing on the Man of Steel suit?

Also because it's the only tutorial I ran regarding dynamic clothing, how is your speed in setting up a scene. I was thinking of that guy that Supergirl was knocking for a loop. Can I assume you set up the simulation for both of them? Those of you who are expert with dynamics, I'd appreciate your input. There is a wonderful kimono for Vicky 4 over at rendo. It's looks superior to anything conforming but I was thinking she'd be in it alone and if she had to interact with anyone else, there would be clothing props all over the place. Except for a swimsuit issue, I tend to use more than a few characters at once for my renders.

The cookies were great. Tonight, I'm thinking cinnamon rolls. And coffee.

I had already set the constrained groups in the Man Of Steel cape, so yeah, there was no need to add that into the tutorial and confuse you.

You can do multiple cloth simulations in one scene and not have any problems. The clothing will collide only with what you tell it to. Since you are only doing stills and not animating, it should not be much of an issue if one character's arm passes through another character's torso during a cloth sim. The cloth will pass harmlessly through that character too. It's the final frame that is the concern after all.

But I have done a cloth sim and then decided that the cape was draped better at frame 17 than it was at 30 and used that frame for my render. It's all on how you want it to look at completion.

Oh, and the constrained group will already be set on all of these items when I finally get around to uploading it. All you have to do is pose and run the sim...

On the fight scene, I used James Casual. He already has clothing on, so all I had to do was pose him. All of the simulations were done on her alone.

And I think Dawn has a great figure, and if you get her starter morphs you can create the characters you like to use in your renders with a few dial spins.

There is definitely a waistband on this skirt and for the life of me I can't figure out why. The more I drape it before the sim the harsher it becomes. I can live with it if you can. If not, I'll remodel and have something to show later in the week.

I am finally getting to go home for awhile. We are going to spend the weekend doing a theme park, and home on Monday. The kids are excited. But not as excited as I am!

Trying out textures. But I have to stop now or I won't ever get my suitcase packed!!! Good night all. See you here in a few days.

Can I ask why you're draping BEFORE you sim? The sim is supposed to do the draping for you.

Have a great time with the family. :D
