Very nice render. This is one of those pictures that inspires you to think about what happened a moment before. Which brings me to one small critique. The shoe she isn't wearing should be pointing 180 different. That would be a very strange way to take off a shoe. It struck me as odd, and I actually spent several minutes taking my shoes on and off to see if I could come up with a way that the shoe would end up that way on its own. I do that sort of thing with my own poses actually, try to 'move' into them in real life.
That being said, it's the great storytelling in this very simple image that made me thing of it. I really do love it.

Thanks for the support. I was slightly confused by the comment about the shoes but I think it relates to the "Art_of_Mind render" which I think is stunning but then so are all the others here.
Okay, I can explain. At a local park they are putting up new sculptures, they are installing the pedestals first and the statues later. The statue had not yet arrived for that pedestal so I insisted Dawn climb up there for a quick render. She had to take off her shoes to get up there and then I̶ ̶l̶o̶a̶d̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶h̶o̶e̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶c̶e̶n̶e̶ ̶ I handed the shoes up to her; and as she was putting them on I said, “wait before we render; your pink toenail polish looks great, lets render one shoe on and one shoe off.”
All jokes aside, thanks for the critique, it is a good observation that she most likely would not have laid the shoe down that way. The artist capturing the image turned the shoe that way to help with the composition. I wanted her face and the shoes to pop, and the trees to help force the eye to Dawn, and the thickest branch to her face. It was a conscious decision.
But I couldn’t help but smile and try to visualize you looking at my render and coping the pose and taking your shoes off and on, that’s awesome! Never in a million years would I have ever expected someone to do that. It is great to know that I helped create an image that not only made someone look at it and think; but actually try to act out the scene. Friend for life, that’s incredible.

Ah, it all makes sense now. Because if she was climbing the pedestal the one shoe might have come a little loose, she took it off, set it down on the pedestal, claimed up, and voila!
I had wondered if it had to do with composition because the scene did 'feel' laid out right in other ways. I only understand composition in a gut feeling kind of way so your picture with the arrows is a nice learning tool for me.
I think it's the actress in me. Most people don't realize how much thought goes into setting something down so it will be in the right place when you (or someone else) have to pick it up a few pages later. Glad you appreciated the spirit of the critique.

I love the explanation, I have done that a few times with comments elsewhere and, as most my renders are sci-fi based, it is always fun coming up with an excuse as to why the scene is set out as it is. Your demonstration with the arrows is very informative and I can really see why it was laid out in that fashion so I have also learnt from the render and the explanation.
I think is is always great to get feedback even if it is negative as long as it is constructive as in the case, Gadget Girl gave her reasons for why she felt it looked wrong, which is great. Never ceases to amaze though that each person can see things in a render that others often don't but I am glad they do because it does help you look at your own renders in a different light.
LOL Pen! That reminds me of a funny story about a local eatery called The Texas Road House!! Problem is that the USE on the neon sign happened to be burned out! ROLF!!
Bush dance is good but ............ in the U.S. that could be mixed up like the Aussie's calling a fanny pack a bum bag
