~grabs one of the bananas and starts peeling~ I think a rectangle light fixture, not as long as the table, but long in the same direction as the table, would be nice, with maybe 3 lights, either globes or rods, inside.

Well, basically yes, but not necessarily of the same materials. A nice stained glass would look nice. ;) Seriously though, any kind of glass, though not transparent, would work, with maybe some kind of metal, perhaps bronze, at the corners and around the top an bottom edges.

Yes, I like those blinds a lot. :)

OK here's a couple of chandeliers I just found at a site that specializes in this sort of thing. They have thousands of styles, but these 2 are pretty much what I was thinking, though you certainly wouldn't need to do stained glass. Any frosted glass would work nicely, and if you have them upside down, you would get ambient light instead of direct light on the table area. Obviously then you would need 4 chains to each corner, rather than the 2 shown here.

Interesting that no one has commented on the rug.:(

I've settled on my light fixture for over the table. Unfortunately, as i speak I have to leave for work, so I won't be able to install it until I get home.
Also, making those blinds work might be possible, but I have no idea how. I'm thinking of just making them a non-functioning prop. I'm still going to provide curtains, so they can be an option or not, depending on how much light you want in the room coming from the windows.

Oh I saw the rug, and I may even have one or two in my runtime somewhere, or sitting on my external hard drive. Personally, I wouldn't put such a nice rug under a dining table. I'd be afraid it would get nasty with dropped food and drink.

I like the rug, but didn't think twice about it, as I was concentrating on the windows and the lighting questions. ;)

Funny, I put it there to "protect" the floor from being scratched and scraped when people move their chairs.

You know, I was only going to do one light fixture for the dining room, but instead I think I'll do at least two and give people an option to choose from.

True Earl. I don't disagree about a rug under the table, I just wouldn't think to put a "decorative" rug under a table. I would use something more "functional", if you know what I mean. :)

I suppose, but I think of it as being both functional AND decorative. Plus, it's so busy it'll hide most of the stains.:sneaky:

added the chandeliers to the scene. I know I can do better than that for the shaders though, even with Firefly. I got lazy though and used Poser's built in materials that comes with it. They suck. Next time I'll use one by Bagginsbill.

Oh those blinds are really looking good. The chandeliers look good, and will look better with a brass or chrome shader.

Oh, and Luna can definitely use a highchair. ;)

Okay, tried to work on the lights, but for some reason, I'm retarded with making metallic chrome. May have to go ask Bagginsbill for help on this one. Obviously, I'm going to have to go through all of this again in DS, too. But one at a time.
