Hey Earl, I just played a little with one of the Poser shaders I have that has a gold shader that I adjusted to get a bronze look, or something "like" bronze in any case. See if you like it.

The shader set is Phoebe's Fancy by Fisty, which is mostly fabrics, but the last two are gold and silver. Unfortunately, I don't recall off-hand where I got it.

Edited to Add: OK, I got it at DAZ back in 2014, and they're for both Poser and DS. You might find the fabric ones useful when you get back to modeling clothing. ;)

I just checked, and they're still in the store there.

Okay, that didn't work either, but I'm begining to suspect that I know the reason why not. I don't have any lights in my scene. Just BB's Environment sphere and I'm using indirect lighting. Maybe these shaders need an actual light source.

Ohhhh, probably. I just did that in my default Poser 9 Startup Scene, so yeah it has lights. I don't use an eviro sphere by default.

Okay, so here is pretty much the last scene for the dining area where I'm going to be modeling something new specifically for the dining area. I added these curtains today. The curtains, chandelier and blinds are options that you can add depending on your personal taste. Oh, wait, I may model an optional chandelier according to Miss B's suggestion. I'm going to save this specific scene though because i still need to tweak all the materials for Firefly. Studio's materials are going to take even longer, I suppose.

Nice couch Earl, and the curtains in the dining room look great! So does the transparency of the chandelier.

Are you going to add light emitting objects inside each of them so they look as if they're turned on, or are you going to leave that up to the end user? ;)

Makes sense, as some folks won't necessarily be using IL and an enviro sphere. I have BB's which I can use in P9, and the new PP11 "ground" is supposedly a sphere, so if I want to render in P9 or PP11, I'm set, but not everyone has PP11, and may not be into using a sphere in their Poser version unless they're working with HDRi.

I would still have been doing the basics and you have what appears to be a textured finished object...definitely faster!

I think the key words in that sentence is "appears to be". Plus, it's one of the reasons I wanted to change my focus from clothing to props. Things are really a LOT simpler. Texturing is still a pain, but as long as I let the program do most of the heavy work, a lot of this is a piece of cake.

I was kind of tired last night, so I didn't do much modeling. I literally, took the loveseat, cut it in half, then put it back to together to make the chair. didn't even have to texture map it. A second texture for the rug and viola, new rug. I actually spent most of the night, posing Dawn in sitting postions on the couch.

That's a nice sitting pose Earl, and I like the second rug texture. You're really knocking stuff out for this set very quickly. :)

Thanks, Miss B. A lot of it is just like the couch. I made the couch first, then refashion it to the loveseat, and then the chair. I'm also finding that using reference photos helps a lot. Here's my fourth sitting pose for Dawn.
