A Place to lay my head...

Oh, and I fixed the mesh on the front door and even made it a bit wider. I had to separate the door from the frame and make a small hinge, details. and the door will only open into the house.

Still working on the front door. Also, decided to try stone instead of brick.

This is great work so far. Just a minor point, though, either Dawn is very tall or that front door is very short. Most doors are 7 feet tall minimum and probably 26 inches wide. (Dont know exactly what that is in meters/cm, sorry, dumb American here). Or maybe it is just the angle of the picture.

Well, the issue here is that I wanted a more ornate door for the house than it was originally designed for. I am still refining it though. Hopefully, I will either reach a happy medium or just scrap it and go back to the original double door design. Actually, the longer I work on it, I'm beginning to think that simpler is better.

Just so you guys know, there are several aspects of this project that I'm working on as I go along. If you recall, I started all of this with a bed for Dawn. That bed, of course, is still apart of this project, BUT I wanted Dawn posed on it, sleeping. Alas, I couldn't find any poses of Dawn sleeping. Several of you offered to make me some, but posing the figures was something I really wanted to do myself. It was making poses for Aiko 3 that actually got me started on the making stuff bandwagon, and I have several pose packs for V4 out there somewhere. Ironically, none of her sleeping. Anyway, thought I'd give you a shot of Dawn sleeping on the bed I made for her. So far, I've got (as of this writing) 15 poses for her sleeping. I will have several other poses of her in and about the bed as well, sitting, reading, etc.

Decided to take it a little easier this weekend, so I've played around with posing Dawn and working on textures and mat zones. I "painted" the house different colors so I can see at a glance what room is where. and I lay down some more floor textures. Basically I extended the wood floor texture through out the house except for four places, the garage, the two bathrooms, which now have tiled flooring, and the kitchen which has a marble floor texture.

I do like the way it's shaping up.

But for some reason, this particular picture makes me think of a little kid's doll house! (No that is NOT an insult on your modeling; it's just what the picture reminded me of.)

I did manage to knock put a table and chair for the dining room. Personally, though, I'm not happy with those legs on the chair. They look too skinny.

I do have one change i think I'm going to make in the small bathroom though. I have a tub in there now, but I think I'm going to chane it to a shower only bathroom.

Hey Earl, I'm not liking the legs on those chairs either. I see you were trying to match the legs on the table, but the style looks funny on the smaller chair legs. Maybe plain legs wouldn't look so skinny. There's no reason why the legs of the chair have to match exactly to the legs of the table.

I also like the idea of a shower only for the smaller bathroom. Then it won't feel as cramped as it would with a full bathtub in it.
