I never could type higher than 50 to 60 wpm and that's only if I really tried and if you don't count the mistakes. I'm mostly a hunt and pecker myself. Aside from that I was also mostly creating stories on the fly, so I stopped a lot to think of what I was going to write. For someone who spent 40 years typing legal briefs in record time, yeah, I'm used to typing over 100wpm, and ALWAYS have to go back and check. Unfortunately, forum software in general, does NOT have a spell check feature that I'm aware of, so yeah I make mistakes, but hopefully I catch 99% of them and get them fixed.
Of course, these old eyes don't always catch them, even after rereading a post a time or two.
That's about the average speed for most folks. I think to get a job here they want around 70-75 wpm. I just lucked out with a great keyboard that worked with my light touch, so over the years my speed increased.I never could type higher than 50 to 60 wpm and that's only if I really tried and if you don't count the mistakes. Maybe this will attract someone who will fulfill my dream of fixing up a weight-mapped M4. <3
Welcome Ghostman. As several have intimated and as Alisa has said, we'd be happy to provide a home for your lil' fart of a character!
LOL it'll change as you post more...<--- Admirable? No, just no! That is totally not me at all.
Is that because CVs make more mistakes?
I think I'm gonna like this place.
well we could turn it in to a public flogging then everyone can watch..I don't mind honest.
As someone who uses Daz's G4 figures in my personal art, I recognize that it's up to me and others who still prefer those figures to continue providing content for them, and I know we will, and HW3D is the best and safest place to do that, IMO. So I am going to try to focus on hoping that this has a silver lining for Hivewire in the form of increased business and a bigger stable of content providers.
A friend elsewhere saw the incident with 3d-arena and says it was about her objecting to Rendo now trying to enforce a previously not enforced rule about not allowing any off-site freebie links. All of that got edited quite quickly.Hi, I'm a Poser refugee from DAZ, RDNA, and now Renderosity. Renderosity is now having a mass exodus. A vendor, 3d-Arena was banned for a reason no one can understand. People are lashing out at the mods. Freebie creators are deleting their freebies. People are deleting their galleries. It's sinking like the Titanic and the powers that be don't seem to care. Total chaos. So I signed up here and at CGbites. I hate DAZ and swore I would never buy from them again, but now they have a sale where you can get a lot of Poser products for 80 cents. I'm giving them my money, but also showing them that Poser products sell and I have no interest in G3. I guess I will buy anywhere that has good sales on Poser products from now on, sick of the politics. If they are going to be all about money, so will I. If they have great prices on Poser products, I'll buy, if not I won't. Still upset about the RDNA takeover... But honestly I have enough content to last my whole life. Will start playing with Dawn, soon, I have already, but I haven't tried out the new upgraded version yet, which I have, and I will probably get the Handspan/Thorne morphs. Is there a utility that can make V4 clothes fit to her? Thanks.
I know others have pointed you here or there Wonderland, but I'd like to point out that both Wardrobe Wizard and Crossdresser will convert from V4 to Dawn as they both have Dawn plug ins.
If you have newer Posers there's also the Fit room, which I have found to be hit or miss. Though I don't work with it much which could be my problem.
I've been trying not to let this frighten and depress me and this thread helped some, but I had a nasty feeling in the pit of my stomach when I started seeing more Genesis products than Poser products on RDNA's front page, and had to start ignoring a lot of their newsletters because they had nothing in them that interested me anymore. I was furious with Daz3D years ago when they kicked Poser into the redheaded stepchild ditch, and while I had decided that it would be stupid of me to handicap myself by refusing to buy from them anymore, they sort of made that decision for me by not only ignoring Poser but jacking their prices up to unattainable levels, even on old products they weren't supporting anymore. They have very clearly worked hard to try to force people's interest AND convenience away from Poser, and now they've conquered another lion's pride and are merrily slaughtering all the existing cubs. I can't help but have rude things to think about that. Hey, Lorraine, thank you. Weather is nice today. A little nippy but sunny, thankfully.
I hope you are well and happy. Same to everyone else!
Thanks for the heads up on the edit time -- the life cycle of my typos.
Dunno if you saw, but Glitterati had high praise in one of the threads (I think it was the Baby Luna Render thread) for your gorgeous hair shaders.
Universal Simple Hair Shader for Poser - A Minyassa 3D Creation
Oh yes. I love Minyassa's hair shaders too!
I'm with you on not having a lot of trust with the current Daz ownership. Studio itself is a good tool and most of its users are great people. A small group drank way too much hater-ade, but that can also be said about a small group of Poser users (in fact, any group of humans).
I think HW3D is a good example of users of both platforms existing in a friendly, peaceful environment. In fact, the collaborative efforts of the CAs here to try to get store products working for both platforms is amazing. In the end, we're all just people trying to make art with whatever platform meets our needs or budget.
I was disappointed when I learned that Mortem Vetus was moving to D3D. Especially since they are retiring some of their line. I secretly hoped they would fall in love with Dawn/Dusk and start a new line here.
