It's been a trying day here. My daughter works as a vet tech and was mauled by 3 dogs today at work. She's OK, but has severe bites on both arms and is in pretty intense pain tonight.

It makes one realize that pettiness has to take a back seat to LIFE.
Oh my goodness Traci. I hope she heals quickly. I have a friend who was a vet assistant for years until she retired, but I never heard her relate any occurrences like this. I really hope she's back to 100% real quick.

It really was a "freak accident." The vet keeps retired Greyhounds because they are universal blood donors for dogs that need transfusions and today's leader is a new addition. A new employee was moving them from their overnight housing to the run outside and they got away from her. They spotted the cat my daughter was feeding and attacked. Everyone survived (including the poor cat) but we suspect the new Greyhound will be re-homed where there aren't cats to be attacked.

According to my daughter most of her injuries were because she literally took the cat out of the dog's mouth trying to save the cat.

Sending healing prayers your way. Your daughter sounds very brave! I've kept retired greyhounds, and their prey drive tends to be extremely strong. I'm sure that the kittie's owner is very very grateful!

Yep, that'll do it. Dogs don't like when you try to mess with their food! Glad she's okay.

Wow!! Your daughter is a brave young woman!!

I'll say!

Yeah, she is. Takes a special kind to go to war over a kitty, but she's been around animals all her life and I can't imagine her doing anything else.

All the animals involved are actually "house" animals that live at the vet office. Poor little Fonzie (the cat) was just eating his breakfast.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's accident, Glitterati3D.
I've been bitten a couple of times by dogs, (pythons, a boa, rat snakes, a monitor lizard, a small alligator, many rats, the worlds angriest macaw, Satan's pet African gray parrot, a snapping turtle, two cats, a goose- God rest his soul, an emu, a cannibalistic pig, a lama, and a little werewolf boy) but I've also bitten a couple of dogs too... It's a give and take kinda thing... But bites really hurt. I hope she bit them back (or at least the person who lost control of the dogs), but I realize that's not for everyone and some people feel uncomfortable about doing that... You also have to have strong teeth and not mind getting fur stuck in between them... I'm okay with that, so all bets are off if a dog wants to mix it up. I don't recommend it either, because apparently the authorities frown on this sort of behavior and expect you to pay for the dog's rabies shots in some cases. That and they guilt you with "you're human, you should know better"... Which I find insulting to dogs... Well, nice dogs... And possibly that little werewolf boy who bit me in the grocery store... I suppose werewolves bridge the human-canine gap... Wait... If little werewolf boy bit me, and even though I didn't pick up his lycanthropy, could I still be a carrier...? In that case there is a fat German Shepard that might turn into a fat German guy on full moon nights... That's how that would work, right?
Okay... Sorry...
I hope your daughter is doing better and don't encourage her to bite her coworkers because I suggested it... If she does it on her own don't put her down or make her feel bad about it, but don't encourage it... I'd do it, but don't tell her that... Generally I don't recommend telling anyone, anything I've said... As a matter of fact the fewer people you tell about stuff I've said, or admit to having read, the better of your chances of acquittal should anything end up going to trial...
Okay, my best wishes for her speedy recovery.
You should probably just ignore this post and go back to the RDNA merging with Yoyodyne... Cyberdyne...? Omni Consumer Products? Tyrell Corporation?... DAZ3D?... One of those... Good night.

Leave it to you to make it all hysterically funny.

But, yeah, I think I'll leave out the biting someone/thing else part.

ROFL!
