I like Delicious Apples, though the one thing I inherited from my Dad, other than height, was the inability to digest apple skins easily, and we all know what skinned apples look like, unless you throw them in a glass of ice water. They turn brown so quickly.

My mom always preferred Macs, but she did more baking with them then actually eating them.

My mum was like you, she always peeled her apples as she was eating them: cut them into quarters, peel and core each quarter just before you eat it, no brown :)

Never heard of a 'Mac' but my son grows Delicious.

OK!! thats it!! where's my welcome back!?!? :p (I was here quite a lot in the early days, even helped to beta test dawn, but life took me away from actively participating in the 3d community.

It is cool to see so many people popping in here and things staying positive despite the topic at hand. That has always been one of the charms of this place. A few of the old Poser place crew is always uplifting for me as well.

CWRW, you've almost convinced me that this is the place to be as a vendor. I'm new to content creation and RDNA was my chosen home. Feeling a bit lost at the moment.

We can understand people feeling a bit lost. Hopefully people will find a new home as part of the HW Community.

If being a vendor here is something you want to consider, Lisa put together an awesome pack of info you can find here
Guidelines for Submitting Content for Sale at Hivewire 3D | HiveWire 3D Community

along with other info - a place there to ask questions.

We work closely with our CAs and I hope they feel it's a good place to be!!

Hello all!

It's true, I haven't been around for a while because I've been working at Rooster Teeth. I was (a) Technical Director and Rigger on RWBY season 3 (that just ended). I'm still working there as a Maya Rigger/R&D on RvB and some other projects. I can only talk very generally about what I'm working on and sorry no spoilers!

I've remained active as much as I can, providing support for my current products and continuing to have a close relationship with Smith-Micro and beta test for Poser (all the way into the latest version and been doing that since Poser 6, SR-3). I still love and enjoy Poser. However, RWBY was a lot of work, deep into full-time. I've probably rigged more figures for the show than I can count (all of the new characters in the last season and polished up older ones) and that includes implementing bullet physics effects and so on. I'm still very busy, bridging my skills to the Maya platform and it continues to be an interesting and fun experience. I work with a great crew of folks who are really bright and talented.

But, to the state of things. I only found out about the scenario a few hours ago and I haven't made any concrete decisions quite yet on where my products will be going. I don't think that I am truly leaning towards moving them to DAZ3D as I don't feel that they are a fit for the types of products that they are, being specifical tailored to working natively in Poser. I think they need a venue that is at least a bit more "balanced", so we will see. I'll try to keep everyone posted.

I do feel it's regretable to lose RDNA as independent Poser (and DS) venue but I have to be optimistic. Things change, evolve and I like to think it all happens for a reason. I wish everyone at RDNA the very best no matter what choices they need to make, with the deepest sincerity!

I hope to stop by more often and see what everyone is up to! I had to make a computer replacement last week so I'm still spending time getting things moved over, reinstalled and all that jazz.

@Chris: Haven't chatted in a while, we should sync up :)

Hi David!

All I can say is I've been a vendor at Daz, Rendo and HiveWire- in all I've been a vendor since 2008. Here at the Hive I have found so many truly wonderful and incredibly! talented people to collaborate with, get technical support from, and just plain great support and feedback in general from everyone here.

I also have the ability to make my own promos (part of why I left Daz... they wouldn't let me....), make my products, even in collaboration, on a time-frame based on quality over a specific release date (another reason I left Daz...), one gets the technical support one needs at times (I didn't get that at Daz either...everyone was so busy "keeping their secrets"/no one wanted to try to collaborate/help one another much- with a very few exceptions), and well, heck I just love it here. I just feel more creative and free here than I ever have anywhere else. And a lot of that is because of the support and collaboration that is so prevalent here.

I truly hope you give HiveWire a try. I truly doubt you would regret it in any way.

Woah...what a lot of posts! Hard to keep up...

First welcome to all the newbies and those who have recently rejoined...

There are great people at all of the sites/stores. At all of the places there are very real people trying to do their best to put food on the table. The folks at RDNA had to make a hard choice and they chose. Be happy for them, don't use their situation to further a political agenda. Any time people have to consider putting years of their hard work, blood, sweat, tears, and stacks of IRS forms at stake, it is a gut wrenching exercise.
Kendall, this is really well said. It must have been such a hard decision to make. It's very hard to run a small business...someone earlier mentioned Sydd always being the one to answer the phone. It would be really hard needing to be available 24/7. I wish them all well...

We have no intention of this adversely affecting us, Pen :).
Counting on this Alisa...I would really miss this community if anything happened to it.
There are some renders in the Micheal and Friends thread over at DS Forums that I think Pen posted, they are still there! ;)
Yep and also my images of Diva in the gallery.

Don't have any cookies but I've got cupcakes and pancakes!

I showed this to my son as he loves RWBY and he asked me to say, Thanks for all the hard work you have done on this show.

Welcome to the more new people,

Netherworks! Soo good to see you. Please consider HiveWire for your products. Pretty Please?!? I've picked up several over the last year while working on Nouvelle Aube, but there are others I still need to get.

Loraine. Mac is the McIntosh apple, which is a very popular apple in Canada and the US and is suitable for cooking or eating raw. (Macintosh computers were named after it).

Well there you go, I learnt something new! They are not an apple grown here. I love it when I learn new stuff. I almost wish I was still doing the club quiz night...what a great question that would be :)

Wow! I go to bed, wake up and this thread gets bigger!! Lol.

Hello and welcome to all newcomers and possible vendors, pull up a nice seat, wrap yourself in a nice comfortable blanket, have some drink/ cake/fruit etc. And enjoy HW3D!

Well it's a day later and the darkness is turning lighter and the comments getting more fun.

Nice to see Netherworks appearing, and fingers crossed appearing as a vendor.

As with all loss, it appears we have gone through the anger stage, we appear to be partly through the grieving process, and will eventually get through to the "I remember when..." stage.

It was also interesting to read about the Poser - G 3 script. I'd be interested if someone would try it out and post a few renders to see what it is like.

Very interesting that those involved put it out for free, I like it when people give back to the community in this way.

All the best.

No luck with this script (utility) for me - "Input string is in invalid format..." may try patch G3 by hands someday as all necessary data to add in CR2 is there. Plus there is alternative way — convert expressions to morphs, but I'm not enough fan of G3/V7 to really make it. Basic conversion - G3 and clothes to TriAx works well as it should, it's not new.

Hey, those of you posting food porn... got any berries? I miss my berries. I can't wait for summer so I can get some more harvested and maybe canned. We have a small mulberry tree in our backyard. It produces like CRAZY for a few weeks in the early part of the summer.

It just started producing two years ago, and WOW, the mulberries ripen so fast that no matter how much we harvest we always have a littering of them on the ground for the birds!

I'm working on it. It's not the shape so much as getting the textures right, and I suck at texturing.

I'm so old school (read: poor) that I still use V3 and V4, where I have tons of stuff. Haven't gotten into Genesis or upgraded to latest Poser, for that matter. Maybe if I was rich I'd buy it all, but I don't know.

I might be marginal, I have no idea, but that's where I am. I have DS but find it awkward to use, kind of like I find Blender awkward to use. :barefoot:

Perhaps I'm just making a donkey out of myself, but that's where I'm at and that's where RDNA have been a glorious haven - along with their unique, nowhere-else-to-be-found (in my limited knowledge) items, ranging from the bizarre to the insanely creative. That is what I will miss. I rarely haunt forum or such because of time limits, so I can't claim to know many, but I understand many will miss that too. :(

I am at home with my sketch pad and pencil and my watercolour, and while I have tried oil it didn't agree with me at all. Same with Poser and DS, I know the former and cannot seem to get along with the latter. What I have there is mostly just laying around and not getting used, like the oil painting material. Then again, perhaps I am turning into legacy content myself, I don't know. As long as my PC can run the old programmes I suppose I can keep tinkering.

Uh oh, I'm turning into Eeyore. Quick, someone, pin the tail on me! :giggle:

Ooooo,....I love Eeyore! :inlove:
