I Just Wanted to Post an Image Thread

This Lantern will be Jessica Cruz when it's done. I have to make a few changes to the texture map to get it right.

Yeah, I noticed a few errors in the texture mapping and I have to fix the UV mapping because there are some issues with it.

Then I have to figure out how I am going to put that lantern symbol on her right eye. I tried adding it to her face texture map, but it didn't look right. I have to dig out her template and see what I can do with it.

Extraordinary
rokket. This stuff is so badass! Plus while I'm still stuck on v4, anything for Pauline is good!

I would think if you're not going to distribute her or if you are using the maps that come with Pauline, why not try putting that tattoo over her right eye. It's not much. However, getting just that tattoo to glow? Not even @seachnasaigh could figure that out. (Actually he could I'm just waving my hat so he'll drop by)

I could get it to glow. I think.

I doctored up her right eye too. I am doing a render as we speak.

OK, my assertions:

[1] You can use the Pauline maps, and yet make a distributable item, by using a B&W discriminator map which will determine where the tattoo appears versus Pauline's skin. Your package would only need to provide the discriminator map. Your MAT would reference the Pauline skin maps, but your package doesn't need to provide her skin maps.

[2] Yes, the tattoo can be made to selectively glow, and even cast light, also controlled by that discriminator map.

[3] She appears to be surrounded by a glowing aura. That can also be done, but you'd need to make an enveloping mesh -rather like an inflated hazmat suit- which would be rigged with the doll's bone rig, and the envelope mesh figure conformed to the doll. See below - foreground pixie is Roxie; background pixie is Posette.

Yeah, cousin, my figure won't look much like that one above. Whomever created that image took some creative liberties. I only posted it because it showed a fairly decent view of the lantern on her face. Mine is much different. I am using Pauline 2 European for the base figure. I have the suit and her right eye done. I still have to model gloves and boots. And then think about the glow around her.

Wise
I am not one for New Year resolutions but I do like to have ideas for the New Year, plans that can be modified, hopefully, depending on what life decides to throw at you.

Hobby wise my plan for 2018 is to try and improve my Poser scenes and also my story telling. The sale on Poser Pro 11 allowed me to upgrade just before Christmas, which is a good start, and I have my characters now working fairly well in superfly.

So here is the cast that I plan to work with this year, big enough to make some interesting renders, I hope, without making the story writing too complex. My system may be a limitation but that is something I have to work with until I can afford something better and anyway, I think my skill set will be the biggest limiting factor. Of course I might be setting myself up for failure even if life does not throw too many curve balls, but I love a challenge.

I'll download that screen shot when I get back on my laptop a bit later! I am on the ship's computers right now. It GLOWS! That's the effect I want. Thank you cousin!
