Gorgeous work Ladyfyre, and welcome to the HiveWire forums. ;)
Thank you Miss B :) I'm sure I had an account before that was linked to my store account here but haven't used it for so long I couldn't remember which email I used for it so just made a new account. This is such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that I feel comfortable but I don't often post on forums these days much because when I'm ill I lose all track of time and often forget to reply and don't want people to think I'm rude.

Just got these into QAV Growing Up Thoroughbred

Sorry to hear about your health issues, and I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you, unfortunately it's been like this since the 90's with peaks and troughs, it's just that this last trough has lasted for over two years now, I ran myself into the ground doing a degree and had to put it on the back burner with everything else. Just lucky I have a fab family which makes the difference.

This one is way on the fantasy side. Qilin

The Qilin is the physical manifestation of magic and is depicted as a hooved chimerical creature known in Chinese and other East Asian cultures. It is said to appear as a harbinger revealing the identity or the imminent arrival or passing of a sage, seer, mystic, or illustrious ruler.

It is a good omen thought to have magical wards of protection, prosperity, serenity, long life, and good luck. =)

[QUOTE="WOW! Gorgeous images!! =) Thanks so much for sharing them and welcome back to 3D! I really love the first one and I could see that framed over a door space. I have a similar body type to the Akhal Teke juvenile in the Growing Up Thoroughbred morph set that should be out soonish, but have been working sporadically on the larger version trying to get that unusual body style is difficult just using the dial morphs as it's more off a trapezoid shape. I also wish there were some nice veins and muscle definition for the HiveWire Horse sort of like your toned and body builder morphs that you have for the human models . I Love Ronnie!!! Rae has been twisting my arm to try and do a Welsh/Irish Cob! I also have a Gypsy Vanner Morph from Harry/Draft/Foal that is nearly done in Daz and my custom toony char Bubbles. I just have to figure out how to convert them over to Poser!

Thank you @NapalmArsenal :) this is Ronnie in real life, he's actually a Welsh section c, the smaller version of the welsh cob, we've had him for 12 years now since her was a very moth eaten 2 year old. Even though he is only 13.2hh (top size for a c) he has the biggest personality of any horse I know and is definitely the boss of our 5. We also have Cruz a Welsh section d (from a very gangly ugly yearling) who is now a very handsome "proper" welsh cob - the attached render is of a character I built around him for the Daz Horse 2, but was never happy with the legs. We also have 2 little welsh section a ponies and a bonkers, won't accept her age thoroughbred whose hobby is causing mayhem, being a 21 year old diva and running up huge vet bills haha.View attachment 30036 View attachment 30035

I've just had a look at your Growing Up Thoroughbred morph set, very nicely done! it's so hard to capture that age between foal and adult. The 3 of ours we've had from youngsters looked like different shaped horses week by week, I was seriously concerned about how large Cruz's head was at one time and how narrow his chest was, he looked like a donkey instead of a red in the purple cob lol.

I'm finding with the Akhal Teke character that there are some problems with the mesh deforming badly in some poses which I'm trying to find a way around, probably because it is so extreme in the long legs and neck. I thought I'd gotten around that by not adding the scaling to the morph but adding scaling control dials and by adjusting the bones to the shape. I haven't gotten around to trying to get everything working in Poser yet, in fact I haven't opened Poser for at least a couple of years as I'm so much more comfortable with the DS interface. I've only just had to relearn how to create ERC dials for the scaling morphs so one step at a time haha.

I'd love some good displacement maps for the vascularity, chestnuts and all the little bumps and wrinkles around the mouth. I made one but it didn't really work out as I wanted it to so it's back to the drawing board with that but it's on my list.

One other problem I'm having is the mane not fully following the morphed mesh, I got around that a while ago with my "continental heavy", but my sieve like memory can't recall how.

Love your Vanner too, have a lot of them around here but not the nice quality types you seem to have more of in the States but they are such nice honest horses, and so much easier temperaments than welshies and thoroughbreds, I keep saying that if I ever get another (if I ever get well enough to ride again) it will be a nice, calm coloured cob :)[/QUOTE]

He's a pretty boy!! Love his markings!! Yeah, for some reason the Welsh guys have bags of personality or at least all of the ones I have been around do. A friend of mine used to have one that changed pastures at the start of summer all on his own LOL. opened the gates and everything. Nice Character I really like his head, but do see what you mean about the legs. Maybe you give him another try with Harry? Cruz is a cutie as well!! =) Nice defined head! LOL yes those TBs can be total Divas!! My cousin's horse Lee used to pitch a fit about everything ah and then there was my fleabitten gray Mare Duchess ......... oh yes she was the Duchess!! The only horse I think that ever tried to bite me!

You are so right! Sometimes they look like gangly teenagers heads too big for their bodies very thin necked and discombobulated and then you look at them in a week and wonder ........... is that the same animal?

Yeah, I have been having the same issue with the neck and limbs. The Gaskins don't agree very well with the down scaling so the only other option might be to take it into a modeling program on some things. Would love it if you could teach me how to create the ERC dials !! That is something I don't know how to do yet.

It's something I have been toying with, but haven't has a chance to really sit down and play with it. Would be nice with the little wrinkles around the mouth and veins around the nose.

Harry is better with that and if you have the foal there is a dial that lets you move the mane so that it's flush with the lower neck, I always use the adjust height dial that helps some.

Thanks on the Vanner!! Not many Vanners around here mostly Quarter Horses there's a bunch of cutting and roping horses and several arenas around where I live, mules, and TBs as the race tracks are not too far away. The only one I have been around rather reminded me of a big dog instead of a horse with it's personality. More of a companion and best friend lol and she loved hugs!! Well, I do hope you get well enough to do that again!! ((Hug))

Sorry it's been a few days in replying, when I saw your post I decided to record a video of how I did it only to realise that the microphone on my never used webcam was too awful to do the narration. I tried using my phone to record it which didn't seem too bad but then was faced with adding all the mp3s in the correct order and time to the video so just uploaded it as is for now until I'm feeling switched on enough lol.

It's set to unlisted for now until I upload the finished version but you can see the video here:
I also forgot to capture the very beginning where I zeroed the figure (all dials, rotations, translate, controls and morphs) - very important step, and then I posed the leg to where I wanted it. This would be exactly the same procedure for scaling too. Hope that is some help? But if not I'll answer anything I know lol.

Since doing this I've also relearned how to make the JCM morphs to fix some bending issues which is going to keep me busy for a while with all the different characters I've made for Harry haha.

I really miss my birds, used to have a huge aviary when my kids were young, budgies (always my fav), cockatiels, zebra finches, bengalese and chinese painted quail. My grandad and uncle always had them and I have a lot of happy childhood memories spent with them and their birds :)

Hiya Rae, thank you :)

Thanks for buying my Welshie, if you need to you can redownload your package from my website or if you have lost your login just let me know and I'll reset it for you.

I did try to recreate Ronnie (the pony that this character was based on) with Harry and used my Milhorse UVs to use the coat texture from my welshie set on him as in the render below. I have used the texture transfer utility to generate a map with the Hivewire Horse UVs but it is a bit rough and ready on the seams where I couldn't get the UV's to match and only covers the coat (I have been using CWRW's superb maps for the rest of the materials). As a customer I can send you the map if you would like it?View attachment 30011
Ronnie's a sweetie. I had a Welsh Mountain growing up, he was a little terror but I loved him, since I didn't have property my cousins ended up with him and last I heard he was in his 30's!

I'll send you a PM :)

You are welcome :D:D:D I just hope it is some help, I knew I had done it before but couldn't remember how and Daz Studio has changed how over the last couple of iterations so when I googled it was mostly coming up with the old way. This one is much easier and faster once you remember the steps :)

We all keep joking he is more like the family labrador than a pony lol, once had him hidden in our (town) back garden for a week and a half after someone had him advertised (with photos) for sale and the police refused to do a thing as no crime had been committed grrr. He made himself straight at home but was a bit put out that he wasn't allowed in the kitchen haha. My granddaughter's 4 year old friend and according to her future husband came to see them all the other day and we brought Ronnie in for grooming and cuddles, little lad kept running directly under his legs and Ron didn't move a foot - just looked a little bemused and graciously accepted all the over enthusiastic hugs and mini people brushing his legs/chest/belly before giving them both a ride together. Yet with an adult rider he is full of bounce and fire.

Our two welsh mountains (one actually mountain bred) are a pair of characters, my granddaughters pony really doesn't like adult much unless you are feeding her (fatty is on a permanent diet...) but adores kids and their attention. She'll stand for ages loose in the paddock with her head pressed into my granddaughters chest being stroked. The other one is a totally different kettle of fish and whilst very friendly hates being caught and was too unpredictable as a lead rein pony and is too tiny for an older child, only about 10.1hh in total. He is a stunning pony yet resembles a yak over winter, I've never seen anything like it, people often mistake him for a shetland with his winter coat as it is so long it makes his legs look half their length haha.
