I am SO glad you're back!

Then your work must be really good Seliah.

When I knitted sweaters, my mother always wound up blocking them, and then sewing them together on her sewing machine. That's one thing I never tried. Sewing regular material is one thing, but sewing sweaters, especially bulky sweaters, wasn't ever something I wanted to try.

I can't knit. That's one thing I've never been able to do. :) I can crochet and sew... but the only things I can do with a pair of knitting needles id drop stitches and stab someone. LOL!

Sewing on the other hand... this is one from a set of six dinner/kitchen towels I made to replace paper with... these photos were taken during the sewing process for one of the set.

And this was a caplet/over-shawl, and a scarf for a friend, both done via crochet.

It keeps my hands busy when I need to be away from the pc, but can't settle down. :D

I like that scarf a lot, but I'd be afraid the white edging and fringes would get dirty real quick.

Nice job on the towels and caplet too. :)

I didn't really have to worry too much about the white edging. The woman who wears it always tucks it down inside of her coat. She's from NZ, actually, and has a difficult time coping with our autumn temperatures here. :) I asked her if she owned a scarf and she just kind of blinked at me... so then I showed her my yarn bag and told her to pick two colors. Those are the two colors she picked, and I put the scarf together in about a day or so.

The shawl was for a different friend from the west coast, and the red/black happens to be her favorite color combo. Since this was a Christmas gift, I just went with the guaranteed color combination. :p

My wife has CTS from flipping burgers for 5 years. Sometimes she can't even grip her phone because of either pain or numbness. Luckily, where we live I can afford a live-in maid. Otherwise she would have a lot of problems with me being gone most of the year because of my job.

The pain and numbness goes away after the op but you never get the strength back in your hands. If the op is up for consideration, my advice, get it sooner rather than later, get it done one hand at a time, get it under general anaesthetic.

I got lucky. Since I knew there was a problem at an early age, I just learned to get up and walk away from whatever it was I was doing that was causing the pain.

Didn't make my boss any too happy, but he got his work done in a timely fashion in any case, so he really couldn't complain.

Edited to Add: There were also hand exercises to help alleviate the problem.

I can't get her to take an aspirin when she has a headache or go to the doctor when she is sick. The doctor she saw about the carpal tunnel mentioned surgery and she squashed the talk right there. Hard headed, that one.

That's a shame cos it made a huge difference to my quality of life. I just wish I could have had it done before I lost so much strength in my hands...makes hauling myself up and down the ladder a problem.

On another note, can anyone guess who this WIP outfit is for? I'll give you one hint: I don't own anything from DAZ.
